There is a difference between being included in conversation and having the Power to action.

The above is something that has recently sprung to the fore as more action than only talk. Having seen 7 swimmers of an 8-lane final at a World Championships refuse to swim due to one of the swimmers having tested positive for a banned substance, who had been allowed back into the sport and was top 3 going into the final. To see the power that was; the power that shifted as the specific swimmer was forced into not competing in that specific final.
Today, some few years later, we (the athletes) hear the calls from administrators, officials and organizational bodies to take control and use the power that athletes have to create what is they would like sport to be. Yes, this is specific to Doping in Sport, but has shifted more and more to the general sporting world.
The wave of athletes wanting to stamp out doping has grown and whistle blowing is an actual ‘thing’. A few comments when Lance Armstrong was caught doping: “It is a pity as we really looked up to him as an athlete. He was such a role model”; “I still think he is a hero”. “I still don’t believe it”.
What is the new wave of generational athlete? How can this athlete be better? Competition is not as it used to be… Training is not as it used to be… Its more intense and more hours are being applied, with similar outcomes.

The relationship between sports, athletes and doping is really a very difficult circle to separate, the story between doping and athletes has been a serialization since ancient times, from various sports and from all levels of the championship, ironically more sophisticated drug detection equipment, doping manufacturers are looking for gaps by tapping into more specific materials until they are not detected, and this story will continue ...
Do not know until when.
As long as people compete, there will always be those seeking an unfair advantage.
