Two big fights on offer tonight in the UK.. Amir Khan makes his return in Liverpool against tune up opponent Phil Lo Greco from Canada after 23 months out of the ring since his brutal KO loss to Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in 2016.

Also tonight in Belfast, former two division champion Carl "The Jackal" Frampton makes the second fight in his comeback against Filipino legend Nonito Donaire, who was fighter of the year in 2012, after stepping up to become a 4 weight world champion.

In an unusual mixup, both these bouts fall on the same date this Saturday night, so fight fans will be torn between following either the Matchroom Boxing card on Sky Sports (Khan vs Lo Greco) or Frank Warren's BoxNation offering (Frampton vs Donaire).

Frampton vs Donaire is probably the match-up that will be favored by boxing purists, Frampton is well known for taking on hard fights throughout his career, and Donaire, even though he has a lot of miles on the clock as of 2018, was a top P4P fighter not so long ago, even if he has lost a few more recently.

Nonito Donaire is still a dangerous proposition for Carl Frampton, who wasn't at his best against Horacio Garcia last December, in his first fight since linking up with promoter Frank Warren and new management team MTK Global.

The Khan vs Lo Greco fight is interesting for different reasons. Amir Khan has rarely been in a boring fight, but his tendency to get dragged in to a war, rather than relying on his boxing skills, along with a questionable chin, means that even if Lo Greco should be easy work for a 'prime' Khan, after a long layoff from the sport, marital troubles and recent celebrity turn in the jungle with Ant and Dec, no one really knows which Khan will actually show up.

If he loses this one, it will probably mean retirement for Amir Khan, as there will be no credible route to a title shot for him, and even the long awaited domestic clash with his rival Kell "Special K" Brook would be a hard sell.

Carl Frampton, on the other hand, is looking to get through Donaire to set up a huge fight with the winner of next month's clash between Lee Selby and Josh Warrington, later in the summer at Windsor Park in Belfast, which is guaranteed to be a sell-out affair.
