UEFA Champions League: Holders Real Madrid dumped out by Ajax at the Santiago Bernabeu
It was a shocking evening in the UEFA Champions League last 16, as 3 time UCL winners and holders Real Madrid have been knocked out of the competition. Ajax ends Real Madrid's domination of the Champions League after getting an impressive victory 4-1 in the Santiago Bernabeu. Real Madrid won the first leg in Amsterdam 2-1 but Ajax were brilliant and have won the tie 5-3 in aggregate.
It has to be one of the best comebacks in Champions League History, as Ajax ended their 16 year wait to progress to the quarter finals of the Champions League. Hakim Ziyech started the scoring at the 7th minute, David Neres doubled the lead in the 18th minute. At half time Ajax was 2-0 up, at the restart of the match in the second half Dusan Tadic scored in the 62nd minute, at this point it was already 2-4 in aggregate as Ajax will be the one to progress. Real Madrid then responded as Marco Asensio scored in the 70th minute. Ajax wouldn't be denied as Lasse Schone's amazing free kick completed the rout for Ajax.
With the latest loss, it seems unlikely that Real will win another silverware this season, after losing to Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey, and thery are 12 points behind Barcelona in La Liga with 10 games to go.

Yes it was a great comeback, also in the first leg Ajax deserved to at least draw or win. I say it was an incredible achievement knocking out the current champions.
