"IKAR" - very important documentary movie

In 2017, "Oscar" for the best full-length documentary could get only one movie. I will add at the beginning that it is completely deserved. "Icarus" is really an extraordinary story, although it was written by life itself ... An amateur cyclist wants to improve his skills and is looking for ways on the Internet. It so happened that he talked to Grigory Rodchenko, director of the Russian institution that deals with combating doping. This new "online colleague" turned out to be extremely helpful ...
Initial fun in improving one's own condition (taking various doping measures) with time transforms into an extraordinary story about the role of sport in contemporary geopolitical gameplay. And on what ways Russia used to win the medal classification in Sochi. And the ingenuity really was front. The tension in this film is constantly growing. The sinister desire to win at all costs and make up for the gigantic costs of the organization of the Games causes that Russia appears to the viewer as a young prince immature to his power, who is soon to become the king. Everyone sees that he wants to show that he can be one, but to confirm his strong position he organizes a global event, where his subordinates are to be the winners.

Besides, after the exclusion of Russia from the games, citizens get a powerful dose of propaganda every day about the CIA conspiracy in this matter. And all important athletes were used to create a proper narrative directed to internal use.

The way of falsifying doping tests described by the author simply knocks. Step by step, the myth of integrity and the Olympic spirit breaks. Interestingly, the main character who revealed the procedure today is worried about his life. His family is afraid of their own safety. The story itself seems to be more interesting than the best thrillers of recent years. It's impressive. And it describes our strange, today's world, where apparent calm can be immediately destroyed.

In recent years, Russia has been described as a "brigand" state. He simply wants to show his role in the international arena at all costs, and in his reasoning it is possible only from the point of view of the strong state. This movie shows how much he can devote to achieve a specific goal.

Many people think that by this document we did not see Russia at the Games in Pyongsang. This could not be hidden anymore. Even such a corrupt organization as the IOC had to take specific actions.
The main character of the movie says he feels a bit like Snowden. And something is on. "Snowden sport" genuinely smacked the age-old rivalry of the "east" with "the west" opening the field for discussion - were they really deceived in Russia or just Russia has fallen, and others have not yet ... We will see with time :)

Netlfilx purchased a movie for 5 million dollars. This is the largest cost of a documentary for which this site has so far paid. Because he knew what he was doing. This is an outstanding story about how many ideals have been stolen from those who watch the young and joyful people fighting for a full victory in front of the TV. It turns out that some of this is just a hoax.
