Footy Talks - Interesting Stats about Van Dijk
I'm not sure if you guys have heard or even have read about this, but last season, no opposing player either in the EPL or CL managed to dribble past Virgil Van Dijk! What a remarkable stats that was.
64 matches in the Domestic and Champions League sees no-one was able to dribble past him. The closest person who almost able to do so is Son Heung Min during the Champions League final, only for the Dutch International to make a remarkable recovery to thwart it with a last ditch tackle.
But one person did manage to dribble past him during an international match between the Netherlands and Germany, and it was the Manchester City winger, Leroy Sane.
No matter how I look at it, it was a really impressive stats for the Big Dutch who recently turned 28. No wonder he is the PFA Player and even an early candidate to win the Ballon D'or.
I am not sure whether he can maintain this impressive stats next season. Rival players will surely be more enthusiastic to break the record. The question is, who will be the first to do so? It's going to be an interesting prospect for the bookmakers to place their odds.
