Griezemann to Barcelona
Just when you thought it would stay quiet for a little longer thinking the bigger transfers would get closer to the wire like they always do. Anton Griezemann was sold to Barcelona today as they met Atletico Madrid's buyout clause of 120 million Euros. He has been on their radar for some time so this wasn't a big shock.
Griezemann signed a contract today and in place now is an 800 million buy out clause which should safeguard their prized catch. Now up front they will have Messi, Suarez and Griezemann. The front three looks a whole lot different and a better balance.
I don't quite know what that means for Neymar and maybe they are now going to back away from this deal altogether. Teams have limited funds to spend as it is not just an open end cheque book as they don't want to fall foul of the fair play laws like Manchester City did and you are barred from entering the transfer market for a set time period.
This will definitely force Paris Saint Germain's hand now as the club they thought would take him have spent a sizable chunk of their funds already. Neymar was totally overpriced when they originally bought him from Barcelona and there is no ways they will get close to that price. I think Neymar and PSG will be sweating now after this deal went through today.
I think Atletico will make war on Barcelona, there have been contacts prior to the expiration of the clause ... let's see what happens
Great shot of Barcelona! Anton Griezmann is a great player and is also young. Certainly the price is high but it is worth investing in this talent!
