This is quite unfortunate when the new season is about to start, and also playing in the first round against an opponent who had evenly matched the reigning Champions, PSG in the final game of the 2018/19 season.

Although, the guest Rennes closed the 2018/19 season with 10th on the league rankings. However, with the victory over PSG, Julien Stéphan's side still managed to get the ticket to the Europa League. In order to strengthen the squad, the last transfer season the guests have successfully recruited players like Niang and Tait. With this timely addition, Rennes promises to create many surprises this season.
