Manchester United goalkeeper David de gea has made a fortune for the worst flood-hit people who have swept through Spain.

According to the Spanish Red Cross on De gea donated 200,000 euros to Spain's southwestern region to help residents hurt by torrential rain.

Last week, the worst flooding in 100 years hit the Mediterranean coast in southeastern Spain. The three-day downpours, with 10 times the normal amount of precipitation pouring over 12 hours, have severely damaged the Alikante and Murcia provinces. The downpours killed seven people and left more than 3,500 homeless.

De gea joined the fund-raising to help the affected neighbours, who were devastated by the flood damage. Recruiting a large sum of 200,000 euros, he asked them to spend it on relief efforts and for recovery from damage.

De gea, meanwhile, recently extended his contract with United to 2023. De gea joined United in 2011 and has grown to become the world's top goalkeeper through United. Rumors of a transfer between Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have been circulating for some time, but he will play for up to 12 years as he accepted United's offer to extend his contract. De gea is re-signed with United and is paid 280,000 euros a week.

So De Gea gave 5 days salary to help people in Spain? I am not being cynical ,but it is probably a tax write off and just some good Public Relations for him. What he has given is pocket change and I don't honestly think it is good PR at all.
