Messi a man for all Champions League seasons - but will this really be Barcelona's?

The Barcelona talisman scored one goal and assisted in another, in a 2-1 win at Slavia Prague on Wednesday night and this leaves us with more questions than answers

For the first time, Lionel Messi played against Slavia Prague and vanquished the Czech side as they entered his list of Champions League victims in a 2-1 win. Thereby performing a feat previously achieved by Raul and Cristiano Ronaldo. Also being the first man to score in 15 consecutive Champions League seasons.

Yet the Argentine is not content with lifting the trophy for four times now for the fact that Barça has not won the champions League in four years

It's good but it's not enough, not when you have the greatest player in history at your disposal.
And especially not when your biggest rivals are out there winning three Champions Leagues in a row between 2016 and 2018.

Winning the champions League has become an obsession for Barcelona but who knows if this season will be any different for them.

I strongly believe that Barcelona will lift the cup this time around.

I strongly believe so myself.

It's not Messi's fault it is just pure luck against him.

Luck will be for him this time I believe, he is the talisman remember?

It's actually a slight on Messi. Being on Barcelona's squad as one of the world's greatest player and yet unable to lift the champions League cup for 4 years running now is like a slap in the face for Messi.

Quite unfortunate and hence his dissatisfaction. Maybe this season could be the one they have been waiting for.

The Catalans have dominated La Liga for the past 10 years, winning eight titles since 2009, but 'just' three European Cups. Like there's a jinx stopping them.

Yes they have, the Catalans backed by Messi himself ought to have broken that jinx.
