Lesser celandine is blooming in Western NorwaysteemCreated with Sketch.

In Western Norway, Lesser celandine (Ficaria verna) tends to bloom in April.
When spring arrives early like this year, we can see these beautiful yellow flowers in early April.
Other years when the spring is a little later, Lesser celandine comes later in April.
In some places in our country, these plants do not bloom until May.

The plant is a perennial herb that comes early in part that, in addition to common roots, has root tubers with nutrients.
The root tubers with nutrients included are giving the plants a basis for the early start of the growing season. Therefore, Lesser Celandine is among our earliest wild spring flowers.

The plant has green fleshy leaves. These are heart-shaped and easy to recognise.
Something that also is showing in some of the photos.

In one of the pictures, we can also see a honey bee.
The yellow petals range from 8-12 pieces and have an intense and characteristic yellow colour.
In many places, this plant is regarded as weeds, but as a flower, I find it beautiful when it covers meadow with its sharp yellow colour.

Wonderful macro shots, my dear friend @Siggjo! It's nice to read about plants when the narrator loves nature. In our area, the celandine has four round petals, here I see nine oblong petals, I think that this is due to the smaller amount of solar radiation, the flower needs an additional chlorophyll. It is very interesting. No less interesting, for me, to see bees in Norway. I am interested in everything related to beekeeping. I talked to beekeepers from Russia, the St. Petersburg district, they complained about the short period of flowering of meadow grasses, there are no other melliferous plants, such as acacia, linden, sunflower. It is interesting when the first flight of bees occurs in Norway and when beekeepers start preparing hives for wintering? If this topic is close to you.

I like to take pictures of insect and flowers @Barski
Previously I have taken pictures of bees sitting on a flower.
It is an excellent motive for photography.
I have also had bees with beehives for about 15 years, so I am interested in flowers that produce nectar as the bees visit to fetch necklets and produce honey.
I also have knowledge of plants where the bees find pollen.

Beauty. This plant is also very useful in medicinal terms.

My grandmother used to collect it. Very beautiful and bright petals.

We have this grass is also called swallow herb.

Young parts of this plant in Western Europe is used as salad and condiment for meat dishes But by the time of fruit ripening plant, becomes poisonous...

You've got great pictures, Dear @Siggjo

Thanks for the additional information about Lesser Celandine (Ficaria verna) @Singa

I find it quite natural that the plant used this way. I've seen something about it in my flower books.

This plant should not be confused with Greater Celandine or Svalewort (Chelidonium majus). This plant is also toxic.
Among other things, they have fewer petals, and the leaves are entirely different.
They also belong to different plant families.

Yes, with plants you need to be extremely careful.
You can easily confuse them :-)

They have leaves and root system are very different.

looks a very beautiful flower,awesome photography @siggjo

Thank you for the praise of beautiful flowers @Rezacontri
and thanks for the recognition of the quality of the photos.
