Borja Mayoral says he'll still be at Madrid if Mariano hadn't arrived

The 21-year-old was speaking after being unveiled as a Levante player. The player said he's solely focused on Levante now even though he has had a change of career plans.

The player had been set for the new season but had to make a change when Mariano arrived. The players spoke on how quickly things changed from being looked upon to be a crucial member of the team to having to find a new club.

Mayoral speaking to the media said he had been on holiday with friends when the manager has called him. He said the call had been a long one during which he had been assured of his place at the club. He however said things had changed within the last week when he had to make contact with the club's that wanted him.

Sevilla, Alavès and Levante has wanted him but he chose Levante because he liked the group of players there and how they celebrated their wins. That, he said, was important for him.
