ZAZA'S GOAL MADE HIM EMOTIONAL

Simone Zaza went "emotional" following his goal in the 1-1 draw with Netherlands, having remembered his previous unlucky moments including the penalty he missed against Germany.

The Italy international broke the deadlock in Turin, taking the advantage of Virgil van Dijk's mistake at clearance from Federico Chiesa's low cross.

The 26 year old who spoke to Rai Sport after the match stated that the goal was some source of happiness for him considering some sad memories he had had with the national team in previous times.

The Valencia star admitted he was as well a little bit lucky in the past but had a lot of really tough and unlucky moments, and the negative memories led to his emotional state after the goal.

Zaza made known that Italy squad is a team of young and talented individuals which can go places in the next tournament they find themselves.
