There's A Possibility Of Victory For Red Bull In Canada - Daniel Ricciardo

Daniel Ricciardo, Monaco race winner has stated that there remains a very strong possibility of the team coming off with a second successive victory.

This is despite the inability of the team to make it to the front row in lieu of the Canadian Grand Prix event for Sunday.

After a frustrating weekend in Monte Carlo, Max Verstappen, Ricciardo's fellow Red bull teammate was finally able to bounce back at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve, thus dominating the three practice sessions to emerge as genuine contenders.

Qualifying at front row was Ferrari and Mercedes as they have always done at every race weekend, thanks to their superior engine modes. In third position came Verstappen while Ricciardo will start out from sixth position on the grid.

However, Ricciardo firmly believes that the team can go on to come off victorious, thus sealing their third win in seven races for 2018.

He noted that he had once achieved the feat for the team back in 2014 in his maiden Grand Prix win in Canada where he had to start at that same sixth position.

Ricciardo noted that how the race would end will be determined by the first few laps and is hoping that once they can manage to see it through the first stint with the hypersofts which would be an advantage for them, they could finish up with the ultrasoft.
