Manchester United started the game brilliantly. Rushford missed a great opportunity in the 4th minute from the close range. But Rashford who has been in great form under Solskjaer and was playing his 100th premier league game scored the goal in the 9th minute. For the goal, Pogba intercepted the pass from Richardo Pereira and clipped it above the Leicester back line in the path of Rashford. Rashford wonderfully put it past Kasper Schmeichel.

But Leicester who came into this match after getting a point from the leader Liverpool in the previous game didnt look to sit back. They wanted to get something out of this game too and continued pressing forward. United was also pressing forward in search of the goal, especially Rashford was brilliant going forward forcing saves from Schmeichel in a couple of occasions. Leicester also tested de Gea on many occasions. United was not at their best up front in many occasions. They failed to create other clear cut chances.

One of the best chance came to Jamie Vardy whose bicycle kick fell directly to de Gea. Maddison also had a chance to score from the free kick from the close range but got it straight into the wall. Leicester City brought Rachid Ghezzal and Shinji Okazaki to strengthen the attack. United also replaced Sanchez for Martial who didnt have a good game and didnt look at his best. Rachid Ghezzal had another great free kick into the top corner but de Gea made a one-handed save to deny it. The latter part of the match was all about bad fouls, booking and Uniteds effort to preserve the lead. 8 players conceded the yellow cards, 4 from each team, and 4 of those came in the last 10 minutes. Matic and Mendy were lucky not to concede the red cards.
