Indonesia lost on penalties, How did Luis Milla choose the executors?
Indonesia U-23 national team failed at the 2018 Asian Games after losing on penalties from the Arab Emirates. Even though Garuda Muda has prepared itself and mentally to fight tosses.
The meeting between Indonesia and the UAE in the last 16 ended with a penalty shoot-out after 120 minutes with a strong position 2-2. Indonesia eventually lost 3-4 on penalties.
Septian David Maulana and Saddil Ramdani are two failed Indonesian executors. Stefano Lilipaly, Alberto Goncalves, and Muhammad Hargianto are three players who successfully carried out the task.
Indonesia actually has prepared a penalty shootout in training. However, the results in the match did not go well.
"There are kickers who are okay, there are also those in the club that we see like to take penalties, and there are also those that fit in good training. But, the penalty is like a lottery," said Milla.
"If in the moment I made a list, then I asked the players one by one. I also saw his face whether it could give a sense of security. By just looking at the face, we can actually know, but the results are as seen," he continued.
