De Gea all set for world cup showpiece

The Spanish and Manchester United shot stopper has let the media know that he is ready to face the man that many refer to a scoring machine.

Spain will have to face stiff competition from Portugal who are in great shape heading into the world cup.

Portugal were crowned European champions in 2016 and will be looking to even going a step further to lift the world cup trophy.

Ronaldo, Real Madrid main target man netted 44 times in all competitions last season and so is easily the biggest threat that Spain will face when the two sides meet.

De Gea himself managed to keep a clean sheet in their last outing, a friendly game against Tunisia which saw them win with a one-goal margin.

The goalkeeper had made an uncharacteristic mistake in their game against a well-contained Sweden side when he failed to hold on to a lame shot from Stephan Lichtsteiner which gave Ricardo Rodriguez ample opportunity to score an equalizer. This brought the shot stopper much critism but he has assured media that that was behind him now.
