Sterling eyeing payrise

The England international has been in sensational form since joining the park at the Etihad. He's fast settled and is arguably one of City's best players and is only just 23 years old.

Sterling is holding off contract talks in a bid today see a pay rise. The club has made it clear that they value the player and have him in the plans for the future. However, Sterling wants to see that's replicated in husband contract. The player is loving the life at the Etihad but wants the club to prove the same of him.

Sterling isn't asking to earn wages equivalents of the club's biggest player, Kevin De Bruyne but wants his wage increased to show he'd valued.

Kevin De Bruyne earns £250 a week which could rise to £342m when bonuses, image rights and other signing on bonuses over the years of his contract.

Negotiations are ongoing between Sterling's agents and the club and soon a new deal would be struck.
