Bakayoko arrived Milan on Sunday ahead of his move to AC Milan.

The French midfielder who joined the Blues from Monaco last summer for £40 Million after Nemanja Matic moved to Manchester United, failed to replicate the form he had during the title winning campaign for Monaco in 2016/2017 season.

He was used sparingly by former Chelsea boss, Antonio Conte who preferred N'Golo Kante and sometimes Danny Drinkwater ahead of the French man.

Although he played in four of Chelsea's last five games and the entire duration of the FA Cup triumph over Manchester United, it was not enough to book him a shirt with the France squad that conquered the world in Russia with teammate, N'Golo Kante playing a starring role.

He made 43 appearances for the Blues, 29 of which came in the Premier League, scoring and assisting three each. He has also been capped once by France.

The arrival of Maurizio Sarri one would have thought to bring brighter days for Bakayoko but he further dropped down the pecking order with the signing of Jorginho from Napoli and Matteo Kovacic on loan from Real Madrid.

AC Milan have the option to buy the 23-year old on a permanent deal for £35 million at the expiration of the loan deal worth £4.5 million.

Bakayoko may as well not be the only midfielder to depart Stamford Bridge this summer with Danny Drinkwater and Ruben Loftus-Cheek also linked with moves away from the club which would definitely be outside England (should they happen) as the English transfer window closed on August 9.
