News of grief approached the world of football. Nigeria legend Stephen Keshi, reportedly died at the age of 54 years.

Keshi is considered one of the greatest legends of Nigeria for having won the 1994 African Nations Cup as a player and as coach in 2013. He even earned the Big Boss nickname from fans.

Keshi's manager and brother, Emmanuel Ado, confirmed the death of the legend. Keshi died of a heart attack in Benin, Southern Nigeria.

"Absolutely, Keshi has passed away. He went to meet his wife in heaven, "explained Ado as quoted by Sky Sports.

Keep in mind, Keshi's wife was first passed away in the last year for fighting against cancer. The couple left four children.

Keshi will always be remembered especially for Nigerian football fans. Achievement he is not limited to African Nations Cup.

The player was the captain of the Nigeria national team at the 1994 World Cup. He also managed to bring the Super Eagles nicknamed team that advanced to the last 16 of the 2014 World Cup and then served as coach.

Keshi is one of two figures capable of winning the African Nations Cup as coach and player throughout history. The other name is Mahmoud Al-Gohary from Egypt.

During a career as a player, Keshi had played the Belgian and French clubs. He defended RC strassbourg in 1991-1994 after previously defending Lokeren (1986-87) and Anderlecht (1987-1991).

As coach, before handling Nigeria, Keshi also had coached Togo and Mali national team between the period 2004-2011.
