Star Wars Episode VIII - What can we expect?

Star Wars Episode VII - Rogue One left us all with a good taste in the mouth. It was great to see Darth Vader on action once again, not to mention the epic X-Wings battles against the First Order!

Now we know that the Jedi will return, and most probably the Sith will return as well. But what can we expect from the next episode? Will we see more of the Force in action, or starfighters battles will still have the dominant role?

The glorious days of the Jedi

After the fall of the empire, Luke Skywalker tried to revive the old Jedi Order, but let's face it: the Jedi are far from being the glorious organization they once were. Kylo Ren destroyed Luke's attempt to re-establish the old Jedi ways. Will we see more Jedi in action in episode VIII? Star Wars fans long to see epic lightsaber and Force duels.

Return of the Sith?

Rumor has it that the Sith will return on episode VIII. A small clarification: Kylo Ren is not a Sith, for he does not follow Sith code and religion, instead he can be considered a Dark Jedi.

However, we still have the enigmatic figure of Supreme Commander Snoke. Is this new character a Sith? Is he a character the we knew before? We will see in episode VIII. But one thing is certain: Disney would make the right move by reviving the old rivalry between Jedi and Sith.

The plot is already set

A young Jedi Padawan, guided by a legendary Jedi Master, seeking to bring balance to the Force by defeating an evil Dark Lord and his apprentice. Does it sounds familiar? Of course! Luke Skywalker guided by Obi-Wan, training him to defeat the evil Darth Sidious and his apprentice Darth Vader.

On episode VII, the plot was set for a very similar situation: Rey, guided by Jedi Master Luke Skywalker, will seek to defeat the evil Supreme Commander Snoke and his apprentice, Kylo Ren.

Also, the First Order's Starkiller Base is a clear legacy to the former Empire Death Star. And as we know, after the destruction of the first Death Star, the Empire built a second one. Who knows? Maybe we will get to see a second Starkiller base.

It is very likely that the plot of Episode VIII will revolve around this. Of course, we have yet to see what role will characters like Finn will have on the story, and who knows, we might even see old characters return.
