A Clockwork CollarsteemCreated with Sketch.

This steampunk necklace is quite short, despite its appearance here on an undersized display bust. I used an odd variety of gold-colored gears in a slightly asymmetric and randomized pattern. Thin gold-colored jump rings connect everything. There are two layers of gears to help it hold its shape and not become hopelessly tangled with itself.

None of the gold finishes quite match due to the various sources I have used for findings, but I think that adds some extra dimension to the cluster of gears and cogs.

The overall length of this piece is 18 inches, or 45 centimeters. According to Wikipedia, this is thus a "princess necklace" and not a choker, but the term "collar" is an archaic term for necklaces regardless of length. Hooray for the simultaneous ambiguity and precision of the messy English language!

Very pretty and very steampunk! I really like it :D

No matter how you call it - necklace, collar or choker - it looks great. Nice done!

"Princess necklace" sounds so much more feminine than "collar," which evokes a mental picture of a slobbering canine.

Imagine if the terms had been reversed in popular parlance long ago, and the dogs wore "necklaces" and the jewelry had continued to be called a "collar."

@jacobtothe awesome, I love it. You have a very good talent.
