Steem Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 25 Review

in #steem5 years ago

Gameweek 25 is the first double gameweek of the season when both Manchester City and Everton plays two games each. This could also be seen as the start of a period when you as a manager have to start thinking about how and when to play the chips you have left etc. Remember that only one chip can be played in a single Gameweek. This means you can for example “free hit” and “triple captain” the same gameweek.

As a first look itś quite tempting to get several players from Everton and City before gameweek 25 but on paper they’ve both got quite hard double gameweek fixtures. Beside the meeting between Manchester City and Everton, City play Arsenal at home and Everton play Wolves at home. You should also notice that gw 27 is a blank gameweek for both these teams and the question is if it’s worth many transfers to buy players you then maybe want to sell straight away? Another problem, as always, with Manchester City players is the fact you can never be fully sure who plays.

The january transfer window is now closed and as follow a list of some of the biggest transfers in and out in Premier league in the January window:

Match preview:

Manchester City - Arsenal

Manchester City want to bounce back, and they nearly have to if they want to battle Liverpool for the Championship, after their surprise defeat to Newcastle United in midweek. Arsenal sits in fourth place at the moment, on the same points as Chelsea, an a win against City at Etihad would mean a fourth victory in five.

Man City are favourites and have been the better team in recent meetings between the clubs.have City won their last three Premier League matches against Arsenal. Arsenal haven’t got the best of away-match records with 11 losses in their last 19 away Premier League matches. Over that time they have only kept on clean sheet so I wouldn’t necessary look o bring in Arsenals defenders even if a player like Kolasinac looks great going forward.

City have also looked quite shaky at the back and have for example lost three of their last seven PL matches when scoring first. With players like Sergio Aguero and Aubameyang on the field we should expect goals at both ends in this match. Arsenal is something of a favourite opponent for Aguero, having scored in seven of his last 11 matches against Arsenal in all competitions.

Team news tells us that Benjamin Mendy and Ederson (both knee) could be in contention for the game but Vincent Kompany is likely to miss out. Arsenal have got more injury worries with will Sokratis, Danny Welbeck (both ankle) and Rob Holding and Bellerin ( both knee) out with injuries. They will also have to assess the fitness of Laurent Koscielny (jaw), Maitland-Niles (knee) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (foot) before the match. Arsenals new midfielder Denis Suarez could make his debut, after joining the Gunners on loan from Barcelona on deadline day earlier in the week.

Possible starting lineups:

Manchester City: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Laporte, Mendy; De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Silva; Sterling, Aguero, Sane
Arsenal: Leno; Mustafi, Koscielny, Monreal; Maitland-Niles, Torreira, Xhaka, Guendouzi, Kolasinac; Lacazette, Aubameyang

With Man City's double gameweek and the fact I don't own Sane or Sterling I am honestly shitting myself. Hopefully Aguero makes up for it!

I wonder who is gonna win. Do you have any guesses to what you think? Man city?
