SC Freiburg vs. Borussia Moenchengladbach 3:1
In the first game of the last round, Freiburg used a quick lead through Petersen in the first minute to stay above the Borussia from Moenchengladbach. Even though the away team managed to even it out through a penalty (Hazard, 20.), Waldschmidt (57.) and Höler (90+4.) set things right for Freiburg who could fix a middle-rank in the table with this victory, while Gladbach lost connection to the top two teams Bayern and Dortmund. While Freiburg will have a very hard task ahead of them, going into an away game in Munich, Gladbach has a way easier task with the challenge to beat Dusseldorf at home.
Borussia Dortmund vs. Hertha Berlin 2:2
Dortmund’s glorious victory streak got stopped by the team from Germany’s capital, Berlin. Even though his first goal got stopped by the referee, Sancho scored the regular lead goal in the 27th minute. However, Berlin’s Kalou was able to even it up before the half-break. The second half started the same way, with Sancho bringing the Borussia in the pole position again. But the 2:1 lead wasn’t enough. In the last minute of the game, Selke got fouled by Zagadou in the box and Kalou walked up to the penalty point. He kept his nerves and stole Dortmund two points with his second goal of the evening, bringing Hertha an important point in the race for Europe. Dortmund stayed at the top nevertheless, the distance to Bayern however got smaller. Dortmund has an away game in Wolfsburg ahead of them, while Berlin will have a hard home-game against Leipzig on their schedule.
Hannover 96 vs. Augsburg 1:2
In Hannover, Augsburg’s Khedira exploited an early mistake by the home team to score early (8.) and bring his team in front. The masses had to wait a while for the next goal, that was scored by the away team after a penalty was awarded to them. Finnbogason stepped up to the point in the 63th minute and scored the early decision. Bebou brought Hannover back in the 72th minute, however they could even it up anymore. With those three points, Augsburg stays in the secure midfield, while Hannover of course is still in the fight against declassification, only one point above the last two places. Today, Hannover will have the chance to collect points in Schalke, facing the team directly above them, while Augsburg will host Nuremberg, who is also in the lower ranks of the league table.
Mainz vs. Bayern Munich 1:2
In Mainz, Bayern was the team making the game and fighting for the lead goal. However, aluminum and the referee stopped them, until Goretzka scored a beautiful volley a few minutes before the halftime break. In the second half, Mainz quickly equalized through Boeglius (47.), but still had to take a loss in the end – Thiago set the end score of 2:1 in 62. Minute. With the next three points, Bayern came closer to leader Dortmund and is already on the second place – Mainz however, is only three more points away from possible declassification areas. Today, Bayern will look to continue their streak against Freiburg in the Allianz Arena, while Mainz will face the surprisingly strong team of Werder Bremen on Sunday.
Fortuna Dusseldorf vs. Wolfsberg 0:3
In the away game in Dusseldorf, Wolfsberg needed a penalty to start their engines – but in the end, they could celebrate a secure 3:0 away victory against the Fortuna. After Weghorst scored the penalty minutes before the half-time, Brekalo (73.) and Ginczek (80.) made things clear in the second half. With their win, Wolfsburg came back in the midfield of the league table, while Dusseldorf of course stayed in the lowest areas of the classification. Wolfsburg will have a tough home game against the strong team of Dortmund later today, Dusseldorf will search for points in Sunday’s away game vs. the other Borussia, Moenchengladbach.
Hoffenheim vs. VfB Stuttgart 4:0
The game between Hoffenheim and Stuttgart started quite dramatic, after a stupid foul and a video-referee decision, Stuttgart’s Insua got sent off in the 8th minute. With one player less, Stuttgart was able to hold up their walls until the half-time break. But then, Hoffenheim came like a torpedo. Within twelve minutes (48.,51.,57.,60.), Brenet, Joeliton and two times Belfodil destroyed the away game and secured Nagelsmann’s squad a huge 4:0 win which brings them close to the European starting places, while Stuttgart now is at the last spot of the table, which they will keep after also loosing against Frankfurt (0:3) yesterday. Hoffenheim will have the chance for more points in today’s game at Leverkusen.
FC Nuremberg vs. Eintracht Frankfurt 1:1
In this game, two Joker players were the man setting the highlights. After Zrelak (78.) brought the home team in the pole position, Frankfurt’s Haller used the second minute of overtime for his late equalizer. Together with the points from yesterday’s 3:0 against Stuttgart, Frankfurt now sits directly behind Bayern at rank three. Nuremberg will look for some points in Augsburg today, being only a few little points in front of the declassification area.
RB Leipzig vs. Schalke 0:0
In the only game without any goals, Leipzig shared points with Schalke and therefore lost the connection to the top teams Dortmund and Bayern in the league table. In today’s evening game, they will have a hard game at the capital-club’s stadium, where they will fight the Hertha for important points in the race to Europe. Schalke will play three hours earlier against Hannover.
Werder Bremen vs. Bayer Leverkusen 2:6
In the last game of the last round, those two teams delivered a soccer spectacle to the fans, with eight goals in 90 minutes. Bayer’s striker Volland started the party with Leverkusen’s early lead goal (8.), followed Brandt (38.) and Bellarabi (45.) for the decision before the break. In the second half, Bremen looked like they might get back after Pizarro (60.) and Osako (62.) brought them close with their goals to the 2:3. However, Leverkusen woke back up and Havertz (67.), Dragovic (72.) and again Havertz (77.) cleared away all doubts about Bayer’s away win in Bremen. With this debacle, Bremen lost touch to the clubs at the very top, while Leverkusen finally got a little bit further away from declassification places. Today, Bayer is facing the next tough opponent (Hoffenheim is coming to them) on their way back to the top region. Bremen will take part in the gameday’s last game again, facing Mainz in an away game. If Bremen wants to stay at the top-level places, they better win there tomorrow evening.

Minute durch einen Hazard-Elfer ausglichen, brachten Waldschmidt (57.) und Höler (90+4.) dem Klub einen Heimsieg ein, der einen Platz in der Tabellenmitte fixiert, wähend Gladbach den Anschluss an die Spitze aufgeben musste. Freiburg hat eine sehr schwere Aufgabe in München vor sich, während Gladbach mit einem Heimspiel gegen Düsseldorf eine vermeintlich lösbare Aufgabe vor sich stehen hat.

Dortmunds Siegesserie wurde von der Hertha aus der deutschen Bundeshauptstadt Berlin gestoppt. Obwohl sein erstes Tor vom Schiedsrichterteam nicht anerkannt wurde, sorgte Sancho mit einem weiteren Treffer in der 27. Minute für die Dortmunder Führung. Berlins Stürmer Kalou konnte jedoch noch vor dem Pausenpfiff ausgleichen. Die zweite Hälfte verlief ähnlich, wieder brachte Sancho die Borussia mit einem Tor in Führung. Berlin kämpfte jedoch bis zum Ende und wurde durch Kalous zweiten Treffer des Abends – er verwertete einen von Zagadou verursachten Elfer – mit einem Punkt für den couragierten Auftritt belohnt. Dieser ist im Kampf um die europäischen Startplätze wichtig, genauso wie das heutige Match gegen Leipzig. Dortmund steht ein Spiel bei Wolfsburg bevor, wo sie wieder auf die Siegerstraße finden werden wollen.
Hannover 96 vs. Augsburg 1:2
Augsburgs Khedira nutzte in Hannover einen frühen Fehler der Hausherren für den raschen Führungstreffer (8.) der Gäste. Danach mussten die Fans lange warten, ehe Finnbogason mit einem Elfertor in der 63. Minute für das nächste Tor und das vorentscheidende 2:0 sorgte. Bebou brachte Hannover zwar noch einmal knapp heran, schlussendlich blieb es aber beim 2:1 für Augsburg, die dadurch im sicheren Mittelfeld der Tabelle bleiben, während Hannover weiter mitten im Abstiegskampf dabei ist. Hannover hat nun die Chance gegen Schalke der Mannschaft direkt vor ihnen Punkte abzuluchsen, während es Augsburg im Heimspiel gegen Nürnberg ebenfalls mit keinem übermächtigen Gegner zu tun bekommen wird.
Mainz vs. Bayern München 1:2
In Mainz kämpften die Bayern von der ersten Minute an um den Führungstreffer, wurden aber lange vom Aluminium und dem Schiedsrichter eingebremst, ehe Goretzka mit einem schönen Volleytreffer weniger Minuten vor der Pause doch noch auf 1:0 stellte. Boeglius glich zwar direkt nach dieser Pause aus, am Ende sorgte Thiago mit seinem Tor in der 62. Minute dann aber doch noch für den Erfolg des Favoriten aus München. Mit dem nächsten Dreier rückt Bayern den Dortmundern bis auf zwei Punkte auf die Pelle, während Mainz weiter nur drei Punkte vor den Abstiegsrängen liegt. Heute wird Bayern versuchen, zuhause gegen Freiburg die Siegesserie fortzusetzen, während Mainz am Sonntag zum Überraschungsteam aus Bremen muss.
Fortuna Düsseldorf vs. Wolfsberg 0:3
Im Heimspiel gegen Düsseldorf brauchte Wolfsburg einen Elfer um den Motor anwerfen zu können, dann rollte man aber drauf los und gewann mit 3:0. Nachdem Weghorst den Elfer Sekunden vor dem Halbzweitpfiff versenkt hatte, machten Brekalo (73.) und Ginczek (80.) alles klar. Durch den Sieg fixierts sich Wolfsburg in der Tabellenmitte, während Düsseldorf ohne Punktgewinn natürlich im Keller bleibt. Wolfsburg steht heute ein schweres Spiel gegen Dortmund bevor, während Düsseldorf am Sonntag in Mönchengladbach gegen die nächste Borussia ihr Glück versuchen wird.
Hoffenheim vs. VfB Stuttgart 4:0
Das Spiel zwischen Hoffenheim und Stuttgart startete dramatisch, bereits in der achten Minute wurde Stuttgarts Insua nach einem dummen Foul und dem Videobeweis vom Feld geschickt. Obwohl mit weniger Mann am Platz, konnte der VfB bis zur Pause die Null halten. Dann ging es aber Schlag auf Schlag. Innerhalb von zwölf Minuten (48.,51.,57.,60.) sorgten Brenet, Joeliton und zwei Mal Belfodil für das 4:0 welches die Nagelsmann-Elf nahe an die europäischen Startplätze bringt. Stuttgart verlor gestern auch gegen Frankfurt (0:3) und liegt am Ende der Tabelle. Die Chance auf mehr Punkte bietet sich für Hoffenheim im heutigen Topspiel gegen Leverkusen.
FC Nürnberg vs. Eintracht Frankfurt 1:1
In diesem Spiel sorgten zwei Joker für die Highlights des Abends. Nachdem Zrelak (78.) das Heimteam in Front gebracht hatte, sorgte Frankfurts Haller in der zweiten Minute der Nachspielzeit für den späten Ausgleichstreffer. Gemeinsam mit den Punkten vom gestrigen Sieg gegen Stuttgart liegt Frankfurt aktuell auf Rang drei hinter den Bayern. Nürnberg wird heute in Augsburg dringend punkten wollen, um nicht zu nahe an die Abstiegszone zu kommen.
RB Leipzig vs. Schalke 0:0
In der einzigen torlosen Partie teilten sich Leipzig und Schalke die Punkte, weswegen RB den Anschluss an die absolute Spitze verloren hat. Heute Abend steht den Leipziger ein schwieriges Spiel bei Hauptstadtklub Hertha Berlin bevor, während Schalke drei Stunden später gegen Hannover um wichtige Punkte im Kampf um die europäischen Startplätze spielt.
Werder Bremen vs. Bayer Leverkusen 2:6

Durch dieses Debakel verliert Bremen den Anschluss an die Spitze, während sich Leverkusen endlich deutlich von den Abstiegsrängen absetzen konnte. Heute hat Bayerdas nächste schwere Spiel (Hoffenheim kommt) vor sich, während Bremen morgen gegen Mainz erneut die Runde beendet.
