Was Beta not really closed?

Hi,

the last post on the @steemitblog is quite interesting.

Even if it is again to vague for my taste, it has some real good insights.

One of them is the paragraph called Leaving Beta. I was thinking that this has been done already long time ago, so it was a surprise for me. Yes, it is stated that it is metaphorical and that it is only a disruptive step in the evolution of Steem.

I think SMTs will be more important than communities in the end as they will bring much more value, especially if Steem will be not be printed anymore the classical way. Also here I'm aware that communities are the of the stones in the foundation of the SMTs.

Most are no seeing the essential, votes will be sold with every change made. We have the offline vote selling platforms that make already bid bots obsolete. With bid bots there is a kind of transparency on which post was it was used, but on the offline selling platforms this is much harder.

Most will not see this, or will just ignore it. So, with SMT's if Steem is removed from the payouts all the market will need to change, maybe there will bidbots/offline selling platforms specialized in one token.

I don't want to go into the vote selling discussion, as I rather go on the increase value discussion. I see in the latest post that there is a focus on onboarding users. With a higher userbase, there is a chance that some investor is coming and not only leechers. If most people will keep Steem on the chain, the value shall increase.

How do you see it?

Where did you read that Steem will not be printed anymore? Or why should SMT prevent this from happening? I'm hoping for a removal of the broken POB system of Steemit.com and would appreciate if Steemit.com becomes its own SMT. Than Steem aka Steempower would only be good for Witness votes, Ressource credits and to earn some Steem from the reward pool depending on the community you are involved in.
But what is the offline vote selling platform that you mentioned?

It would make Steem more valuable. Use case would be to power up SMT. Something like ENG for steemengine and to be able to do actions on the chain. Offline platforms are minnowbooster and smartsteem. You can load them up with credit from another account and buy votes there without a link to the account that paid for them. Votes come from users directly and looks organic.

lets hope for the SMT, its not a wonder but a new way of many...
