Reason # 66: Why Steem is the Best!

Another day, another reason. That is how I have been trying to roll... although somedays I have been missing lately. Here is a doozy today... so, let's get into it!

Reason #66

Centralization of the internet is doomed

Facebook, youtube, ebay, and paypal. They are names that are synonymous with giant internet businesses. They are all traditional capitalist business'. There is a small group of people who make a boatload of money, have access to way too much personal information, and get to decide what is acceptable content. They are the central authorities.

Steem can take over all of these. Facebook... that is a no brainer. Steem is a social media, but instead of MZ getting paid for facebooks success... you get paid for your success on steem. Its easy to see which one is better. On top of that, steem is not phishing for your information to sell for top dollar.

Youtube has been throwing its weight around, telling content creators what they can and cannot do. Advertisers threaten to pull funding and advertising makes the centralized world go around. Not on steem. Create content. Get paid for it. Be free... but be prepared to catch flack from the community for your content too. I like the sounds of steem more than youtube. Plus, you can get paid without having 100,000 plus subscribers.

Ebay is a giant. Paypal works closely with them. Together, they have a lock on online auctions and markets. But, my goodness, do they take their cut? Yes, they do. There are also some pretty aggessive tactics imposed if there is a complaint. I have had my account frozen by paypal over a picky person filing a complaint over a late package. It is out of my control, and, now I can't do business... not good. Steembay is young, and just getting started... but with a little gumption... we can take out ebay too.

Paypal is a centralized payment system. You pay them, they pay the other party. They take their cut and have a whole bunch of rules to follow. Steem, you can pay people instantly, and free. No cut. No brainer.

It sounds to me like steem has the power to take over the internet. It can't happen soon enough.
