Well I don't understand why voting weight is being reduced. As much as we're trying to create a balance and maybe it went over my head, but what is the point in reducing the voting weight of high sp holders and what benefit will it bring to the community as a whole?

The concern that was brought forward by many was that the election could therefore be decided by a few accounts. Seeing this is a foundation designed to represent the whole community, we wanted to work to find a balance. The idea with this solution is that the more stake an account owns, the more weight their vote carries, its just not as dramatic as the current system.
This method is only for this specific election and does not change any aspect of the chain itself or be what the future foundation uses to make decisions. It's simply a way to help everyone's voice be heard.
