Going To Get Harder
With the proposed Hardfork coming up at some point I can see many people crying saying Steem is hard to earn. I think it is great as you should all have to work for your Steem. There is no easy Steem and when Steem is easy to earn then there is something wrong.
Like most things in life if something is easy then it holds very little or no value. Why would anyone invest if Steem was easy to earn on the platform. Users invest into their accounts and power up because it is that difficult to earn.
The proposed hardfork is going to dilute the reward pool as a percentage is going towards development which is a good thing. We all want this place to do well and Steem to hold value and the only way to do that is to develop the platform attracting more users and possibly a few businesses as well.If we could compare this to anything else outside it would be that of a building site with loads of construction happening.
This is why it is important to grow and get as big as possible as we all know the more you have the easier Steem is to earn. That is why it makes no sense why others have parked their accounts and have vacated this place. By the time they return everyone else has grown and will have other advantages like holding Pal and many other tokens.
One thing I firmly believe in is if Steem is hard to earn then the value has to rise which is great for all of us holding Steem.

People love something to moan about. It will make things better in the long run. Let the leavers leave and we will see them in a couple of months again missing the place
You're right, I could not agree more. I see a big segment getting hurt but that's how life is, you have lo learn and work hard, you don't get things on a silver plate.
You're right, it's pretty hard at the beginning, it takes a lot of time to learn the ropes, figure out how this mechanism works and you need strength to get through it but once you can see clearly and willing to work hard, you can earn, even with less SP. However, this place is not for those who are expecting to earn without work.
I'm looking forward to HF21, let it come. I think it's going to be better for us. I believe the experience accumulated so far will help us do better.
Roll with the punches! Then focus on curation because that will pay double what it usedta!
