Interested in Making Steem Better? Consider Joining the State of Steem Discord!
I've been tuning into some of the recent State of Steem forums and found them to be incredibly interesting. It was very heartwarming to hear so many people talk passionately about Steem and come up with ideas to improve on this wonderful platform.
Now, I actually didn't know that there was also a dedicated Discord channel for State of Steem. I just found out yesterday and immediately joined.

What is State of Steem?
State of Steem was created by @pennsif after Steemit Inc. announced that they were laying off the majority of their employees. There have been several live discussion forums with prominent members of the Steem community, in which several aspects of Steem were discussed & ideas were exchanged to improve upon them.
The State of Steem Discord is an extension of that effort, where people can work together on projects to help improve the Steem community.
Why Efforts Like These Are Needed?
It's no secret that a lot of people are critical about Steemit Inc. and to leave the future of Steem in their hands, would be extremely naive to say the least. Steem has dropped all the way to the 50th position on Coinmarketcap and the value barely goes above $0.30 these past couple of months.
We, the Steem community are all invested in this platform. Some people might be in it for the money, others because they love being part of this community. If we don't take our fate into our own hands, nothing will ever change.
Through State of Steem, we can coordinate our efforts to improve Steem and interact with with like-minded people. Just look at what @therealwolf and @soyrosa have already achieved, by getting Steem dApps added to State of the Dapps. After this happened, a positive article about this appeared on Yahoo Finance.
Thank you for such an informative post! Some of the info I was unaware of. I will definitely tune in or even catch up on some of the discussion. You’re right, it’s going to take all of us that love this plattform to keep it alive and going.
Interesting information! I might have to check out one of the meetings sometime. I already have a ton of Discord servers in my list, but this one feels like it could actually be beneficial since it deals with everything that has me on Discord in the first place. Thanks for sharing this info!

And there's happening even more: together with @pennsif @bigtom13 @bluerobo @imacryptorick @rycharde @shadowspub and @starkerz we're preparing a test-run on community-based strategy building on top of the SOS-forum. We'll be using dpoll for that.
It would be great if you could help raise awareness on this. Tomorrow there will be a call-to-action. It would be great to have a high number of votes - otherwise the value of the efforts would be rather low.
Very unique initiative and it was really needed ... Thank you for creating this group. Joining ASAP.

U am pretty slack at spending much time on Discord by this channel is clearly one I should join and check out periodically, so off I go to join it now, thanks for sharing this info
Didn't know there was a discord either. I've joined up to see what's happening. Unfortunately I play soccer at 8p on Thursdays so haven't actually caught any of the live chats.
Through their Discord, you can just help out whenever you feel like it. No need to be there at designated times. Glad you can join!
