RE: Is there Racism and Socio-Economic Bias on the Blockchain in the Form of How Upvotes are Distributed ??

It depends...
When I was at Steemfest, it's true that most people there where coming from more or less the same background, there were few exceptions of course, but I realized it was predominantly a wealthy white driving force.

Again it's just a simple observation, but let's just say it was the "bulk" of these people.
Most of that bulk considered themselves anarcho capitalists, or at least willing to change the status quo, by a massive transfer of wealth through cryptorevolution.(it's already more than most wealthy individuals are ready to do).
Of course some are thinking for themselves as venture capitalist, but most were driven by a common vision of shifting the paradox.

One of the reason could have been the fact that the SF was in Krakow(Poland) so it was geographically more reachable by European and people from the US, so if the next one is in Africa or South America, you would have a completely different audience.

One thing that I can really affirm , is that steem is a metaphor for how the world works. Most of the world is comprised of minnows, not Orcas or whales...

Only few of them have ever been in a position of true hunger, or financial despair, where you're counting your cents to survive the next day.
This is why some of that money made by some of the Dapps and games created on the steem blockchain should be allocated for, you raise content reward by 25%, and it encourages people to create more content, very simple.

On the other side if I want to play the devil's advocate, we can't really offer people free money without at least good content and a constant effort of improving their production value, and therefore adding real value on the steemit blockchain, not just mindless sh*tpost and wanting to be paid for it.
It's up to the curation teams too to be as fair as possible! And realize that a few dollars is sometimes the difference between eating and not eating the next day...

It's something I've been thinking about a lot, what I often forget when i get swallowed into the STEEM vortex, is that we are a small niche .

People of the outside world don't know much about "crypto", or even blockchain.
So let's reward more all the people that decided to open their mind and educate themselves, by joining our community of like minded individuals, we're still all early adopters...
