3 Ways to Receive a Delegation

Delegation is probably the most powerful tool of the Delegated-Proof-of-Stake (DPoS) consensus mechanism which rules over the Steem blockchain. I've explained it in more details here or here, if you are not familiar with the concept.

People, especially at the beginning in their Steem adventure, might think receiving a delegation to boost their account is difficult. It doesn't have to be.

So, minnows and small projects, take notice! This is a great chance for you!

Here are 3 easy ways to obtain a delegation to support your growth or a small project you have in mind or currently run. In two of the cases so far, you also can have a say in who gets the delegations and can help.

1. 100 Steem Power for a month from @jongolson

What you have to do for it?

Winner will be selected in his Monday Nights Thoughts show tonight (July 2nd) on @Dlive. You don't need to attend to be a winner, but Jon loves engagement. Whether in the live show or in the comments, he loves to interact with people, that that might count (hint, hint ;) ).

This delegation will be monthly, every month a new winner will receive the delegation. Jon says he will increase the amount of delegated SP, if this contest becomes popular.

2. 100 Steem Power for 45 days from @minnowfund

You can apply for this delegation once you have some track record and some sort of plan what you want to do next. For details, here are the conditions you need to meet to be eligible for this delegation. You can see all of them in the most recent voting application post from Minnow Fund.

After the initial triage phase of the applications, there is a vote on which candidate to receive the delegation. The vote is casted by the delegators to the @brandonfrye account (which is a combination of a personal account and a bid bot). It is from @brandonfrye's profit that the Minnow Fund project is funded. So, if you are a delegator to @brandonfrye, you can vote on who receives the delegation.

3. 50 Steem Power permanently for your small project / community from @ro-witness

This works a little backwards than the other two, meaning you don't apply for it. You are proposed for the permanent delegation. The first round of proposals came from the part of @ro-witness, but going forward, proposals will come from the voters on the @ro-witness witness.

How does a proposal win? It gets the most votes from accounts which in turn voted @ro-witness as a witness. It doesn't matter the stake of the voters, it is a one-on-one vote. If you support the @ro-witness witness, you can vote for the winner of the delegation, and your vote will count the same, regardless of the stake.

Every week a new project will be selected to receive 50 SP.

Given this is a permanent delegation (which can potentially be withdrawn in rare cases, probably for abuse), it will be a cap at some point on the amount of Steem Power being delegated.

You can see the details here.

Thanks for the shout out man! Yeah so far the response has been fantastic....And I would love to increase the delegation every month :) That's the plan at least!

And yes...Engagement is a good thing lol

That's great Jon! Simple, as you like things, and a very nice boost for the winners!
