CREATE the #STEEM Change you WANT to SEE!!!

There is a quote by Mahatma Gandhi that goes “Be the change that you wish to see in the world.” and for the intent of this post, I will re-invent it a little to this...

Create the change that you wish to see in the world!

So there has been all this "DRAMA" and plenty of convo regarding Dlive and their snapping up of Pewdiepie. Now I get that this guy is a big deal in the realm of YouTube and yeah, it seems to have left a bit of a bitter taste in the mouths of many. Personally, I was not even aware of his existence until this debacle unfolded... but either way, I think it is bloody irrelevant. What is done is done - and all I see, is FAR too many people throwing their toys out the cot about it! Yes, he may hold a YouTube monopoly in terms of audience, but I went to check out his videos earlier today... and well, I was less than impressed lol (maybe I am just too old for that sh!t)... but that aside...

I have always been one to break things down. If you need X amount of money to survive in a month, break that down to a point of what is required in earnings per hour/day etc. This gives you a gauge as to the levels of effort required of you.

Pewdiepie has essentially 94 million subscribers. To me, that simply means 9.5 channels with 10 million subscribers, or 94 channels with 1 millions subscribers. You catch my drift. (hopefully). My point being that YES, I see what has happened - and my brain automatically kicks into "solution mode". I don't see the point in discussing any of the below the belt tactics and I don't see the point in whining or whinging. I DO however, see a point in making an effort to change things. There is nothing worse in the real world than a sore loser. When you are outplayed, outsmarted and beat to the finish line, despite the levels of brutality - the result remains unchanged. harping on it gets you nowhere!

So, getting to the point of this post!

I don't watch much Youtube... but my 9yr old son does and taking in to account the small handful of accounts I checked in his history from today alone those channels hold a collective of close to 50 million - and what most people seem to overlook, is that a collective of 5 or 6 channels that equal 50 million is a LOT more powerful that one channel of 94 million. Why? - REACH - that's why! You reach a broader audience with a wider variety of potential.

So, what I would like to achieve from post is to see the people of STEEM reaching out! START TO CREATE THE CHANGE YOU WANT TO SEE!!!!!! It could be on YouTube, Instagram, Twitter - it does not matter! Share screenshots of your "reach outs" like the example tweet I made earlier this evening... and I will support them in whatever way I can - whether it is from me directly or from my @theluvbug account. (Although, I must say... your PASSION for Steem should not need incentive - it should come naturally!) We ALL have ENDLESS Steem potentials at our fingertips! Whether it is people/channels you follow, your kids follow, your hubbie follows, your friends follow... WHATEVER!!! REACH OUT TO THEM!

ALSO - PLEASE RETWEET THE TWEET BELOW WHILE YOU ARE AT IT!

Untitled.png

As a community, we are ONLY going to get noticed and taken seriously, if we start making a BIG FNCKING noise! Yes, you may swing and miss - that does not matter!!!! - KEEP SWINGING!!!! - You ARE going to hit a ball eventually!

WHO ARE THE

Power House Creatives _night mode.png

The Power House Creatives is a discord community of individuals who are committed to producing content which adds value across multiple platforms. We are STRONGLY focused on supporting our fellow members individual growth as well as offering support to those that are still trying to get ahead. We are a CLOSE KNIT community of individuals, each with our own strengths, passions and input, yet ALL willing to go the extra mile for our family members... WHY? - because, simply put - we CARE about one another and MANY HANDS make light work! - THAT is what FAMILY is about! - To infinity and beyond...

text15.png

INTERESTED IN JOINING THE PHC FAMILY?

As most of you already know our community is closed. This does not mean that we are trying to keep people out or that we ignore those who aren’t members – it simply means that we are focused on keeping our standards of content high and our member commitment higher. I think if nothing else, we have proven those two qualities to the Steemisphere over the last year and even more so in the last seven days.

I am not going to sugar-coat things for anybody, because it would not make any sense whatsoever, nor would it serve anybody fruitfully - long-term. Our community is incredibly proactive - and DRIVING the success and growth of the people within it is our FUNDAMENTAL PURPOSE, because this is how they are able to do the same in return for other individuals in communities beyond our own! Our reach extends WAY beyond our own walls and this is one of the primary reasons why it is important to ALL OF US that each of our members are able to hold our flag high wherever they may roam.

We work hard, we play hard - we support one another through thick and thin, we know whats going on in our "3D" lives and no matter what it is - we are there for each other! Yes, there are daily responsibilities and obligations. Yes, there are things that fly within our walls and things that definitely don’t. Yes, we require quite a bit from you as an individual but you get it tenfold in return and ANY ONE of our members will gladly testify to this. Absolutely EVERYTHING is catered for and considered… including those times when you will NOT be able to fulfill your obligations. It simply requires the following of our procedures, which once you have grasped – are not complicated at all - I promise.

Everybody in our community jokes about my “boot” because they know that there are certain things that never were and never will be tolerated within our walls… and when they surface, those people will very quickly meet my infamous “boot” sending them out the door – or at least showing them that it is open. A few such things would be the likes of: not doing what you promised to do when joining, not being a team player, plagiarism, spamming, causing trouble with other members etc. These are all no-brainers really, so should not be much of a shock or challenge to anyone who is actually on Steemit (or any other platform) to make it a better place for everyone!

We may be a relatively small collective, but we have approx. 118 members from over 30 countries and that continues to grow. Most of our members are also key players in some of Steemits other highly regarded and supportive discord communities and initiatives - and all of us at “home” know without question or doubt that every single one of our members will make us proud with whatever they do – wherever they go – and that is precisely how we intend to keep it. Simple as that! No, this kind of “ethos” does not work for everyone – and that is perfectly fine - Each to their own. The people who have done the “putting in” are the ones that understand what they “get out” of it all ;)

So, if I have not scared you away yet, or if the above info excites you (even better) and you would still like to put in an application to join our fantabulous and VERY crazy little family… then by all means – hop into our applications server and do the necessary.

YEAH BABY YEAH - I WANT TO APPLY

Sort:

I would have to start by admitting that the only reason I know anything about PewDiePie is that he happens to be a fellow Scandinavian, and it struck me as incongruous (a long time ago) that the world's top YouTuber would hail from a an otherwise "socially restrained" culture like Sweden... as the old joke goes "Swedish farmer Ole loved his wife Lena SO much that... one day he ALMOST told her!"

As I wrote a few days ago, "Big Fish are Overrated." When you have as many followers as he does, his purpose in being represented anywhere has less to do with helping/supporting a platform than it does with having one more way to reach and extend his existing audience.

If we for shits and grins were to say that he came to Dtube, his purpose would be to funnel off a few Dtube subscribers, NOT to bring his following to Dtube.

The whole "who we need to recruit to Steem" argument is far more relevant in going after "3rd tier" content producers who might have 10,000 to 200,000 followers/subscribers and are having a really hard time monetizing their outlets enough to make more than pocket change. And then support them, to become million-subscriber superstars once they are here.

Besides, the whole thing is sort of silly... Dtube barely runs with its existing load; can you imagine what would happen if 200K people suddenly tried to concurrently watch something?

Besides... most of the current storm in a teacup is less about PewDiePie and more about people with sour grapes... concerning the way D-Live was here for a while, used our resources, and then broke away without so much as a lube or a thank you.

The whole thing, though, seems like a sad reflection of just how much society has moved to a place where people just like to point fingers and assign blame, rather than just buckle up and DO something...

BOOM!!! Hit the nail on the head there!

and yes..

sad but true!

Something NEW needs to happen! - And I believe it will. I have made, what I believe to be... VERY relevant suggestions here and there... I hope something positive comes to fruition.

Awesome :) thank you!

Resteemed :-)

For me retaining the folks who already came and joined steemit is vastly more important than worrying or talking about some pewtie dude who joined the competition. Sure, we need to attract more folks to steem. But the loss rate of new users is something that i think needs more attention.

Yes that is very important too! I think we need across the board efforts to be increased really.

When I heard that last night, the only thing that came to mind was, "let them have him!"

He was a big deal, but, will he carry the load? Time will tell, but, in the meantime, let's get busy! Why worry about something we can't change. We can change this story.

And do it our way.

!tip

Absolutely!!! Could not agree more!

Very nicely said - everyone has a right to their own opinion :)

Thank you hon :) And unless we DRIVE this train, we should not be surprised if it goes nowhere ;)

🎁 Hi @jaynie! You have received 0.1 SBD tip from @dswigle!

Check out @dswigle blog here and follow if you like the content :)

Sending tips with @tipU - how to guide :)

I will admit sometimes when i am too tired to think Ibwatch his you luagh you loose YLYL videos. He has a talent to find good memes and funny stuff sometimes.
I do agree it would be better to have half the consumers here from a diversified mix than all his followers.
Your efforts to bring people here are great. I hope a steem foundation focuses on this, too.

Very interesting @jaynie, I definitely have some reading to do. I do agree with your target group, small fish when grouped add up to big fish! :)

I am already, indeed, "reaching out," "being the change," and all that by keeping my head down and blogging regularly, while doing my best with it.

I'd never heard of this guy until yesterday, either, and from what I read about him when I researched him, we've not missed a single thing.

Steem On!

You do an enormous amount for the #STEEM community honey xxx
