THE DOOM AND GLOOM I'M SEEING ABOUT STEEM; TO WHAT MEANS IS THIS END?

in #steem5 years ago

I've been noticing some particular saddening information from a particular cliche of people on steemit and even when I feel their opinion is too sentimental to be termed reality I still feel their disrespect towards steem which has given them so much is really unjustifiable. I don't really want to mention names but the truth is that sometimes people allow their frustration and the current prices and the fact that they have not been getting anything lately when they post on the platform to obviously mislead people with their adulterated content which for me is terribly saddening. The truth is that like @nanzo-scoop outrightly said this morning with his content, "nobody can really predict the market" and previously digging up tweet on Twitter from people Who originally does not believe in steem is really dimmuntive in my perspective. I've always said it times without number that we cannot take advantage of the imperfection of something in order to turn away prospective bodies that want to buy into steem. I've read so many comments about steem, about only 40% has been constructively criticising and 60% has been blind, unprojective, biased and based on price comparison with bitcoin.

Someone even said steem may not even reach the height of bitcoin even in 10 years time because steem doesn't have a peculiar goal or the laid down structural ability to boost a spiral growth for ten years. I definitely didn't question them or berate this statement, sometimes I do feel that steem and some of it's adopters are too busy picturing a future where steem will be $10k and because they don't feel they've seen any prefiguration they basically develop a premonition that "bitcoin's progress was written in the stars because of how it all started and how it was promoted" but the thing is that who says steem's success will move on the same wavelength as that of bitcoin? It's just steem's third year for goodness sake and let us all begining to recognise the places that steem need to step up instead of looking at these same places in order to predict steem's death's eventuality?

The paranoia is obviously setting in, bitcoin is doing well but steem is plunging, we want to make headway, or understand the structural frameworks which will work, we want to know of there will be a sort of certainty expecially in this dark time, I understand but this isn't a basis to judge steem in totality. Sometimes there are suitable parameters and I don't think we need to allow our sentiments to inculcate the wrong notions we watch about #steem on YouTube and some on twitter, these sentiments/wrong notions on this videos were made back before even the dapps on the steem blockchain and obviously the coming of 2017 December.
No crypto can currently guarantee certainty and if anyone is calling steem a shitcoin simply because of the desperate desire to be rich and how they've been disappointed should try another coin and become wealthy; but I definitely can't accept steem's beration from people who don't really understand what it means to help build, HODL, or believe in the concept of long-term.
Truth is you can choose to buy in, you can choose not to, the truth of the issue is that at the end of the day our choices can either become "a ladder or a snake" whichever it definitely becomes it doesn't need to create a holocaust or hologram in the mentality of someone who has gone through the market hurdles. Steem will get there, this I know and if we talk structure, we still have seven years to go.

I just see a temporary downturn.......
With Dapps like @actifit that is now syncing to FitBit the potential growth of Steem is phenomenal!😊
I have not looked up the statistics, but I would say by now there probably are millions of FitBit users.....just think about this......
We are so new, three years old....🙃

I have been seeing this negativity too. What I don’t understand is the time these people are spending to bash steem, they could be using to build steem. Why the fvk are they here ? They could be doing something else. It is really silly if you ask me.

Exactly my stances but it turns out these people are really clueless when it comes to building really, they're on waiting for steem to be perfect so they can reap from steem without working it's pathetic

In the beginning and early on, it was the same for Bitcoin. Many detractors, few believers, until one day.... BOOM. Before Bitcoin had died or was going to die like 2 or 300 hundred times already, and still once in while someone rich and smart, like Warren Buffett will still hate on Bitcoin, but as you see, the tide has changed, with many non believers now believers of Bitcoin, and so too will it be with Steem.

It makes me really sad to see steem having a lot of people on the blockchain who thinks steem's demise is definitely imminent when we could work peer to peer contributions and definitely lift steem up, it's really bad but like you said soon it'll have believers

only 40% has been constructively criticising and 60% has been blind, unprojective, biased and based on price comparison with bitcoin.

You hit it crystal clear here Jose. The important thing is to be constructive in criticism. If it's not constructive, no one can act upon it. Even when I point out steems issues that need addressing in a forthright way,I always do it with the solutions in mind.

I think the issue comes down to this for me; some of the people who are at the top of the pile are the ones perpetuating the bad aspects of steem. And the minnows, dolphins and even most orcas are the ones pushing decent community behavior. This makes it very difficult, near impossible, for you or me to change anything at a fundamental level because the money men at the top will simply say.. 'what's in it for me.'

Add into this that most of them are top witnesses and that is what makes steem quite centralized in it's governence model. Obvs it's a decentralized blockchain and the witnesses have to work with each other based on consensus, but the witnesses with the highest rankings, if they join together in a group can pretty much veto anything. Something to think about.

This is obviously the sad truth there seems to an oligarch texture to the structure and it's definitely not cool since it makes it seems all the really definitive decisions are being made by the witnesses

Yeah, sometimes it is the most dark right before the light shows up. Iam a Contrarian so it excites me to see such negativity ! Same with the Stock market. Give me too much exuberance and it makes me quite nervous.

Thanks for the great post , jose :)

Exactly too I think we have to make do with it really, can't stop all the negativity but to live through it, thanks a million sir for coming through.

Awesome post, unfortunately when money is involved it is easy to get upset . I do not blame them .

But some of the negativity I have seen of late will not help them or our blockchain any and will certainly not help them get their money back.

Using our dapps , engaging with our awesome community and promoting them both is how we are going to gain momentum.

We have so many great dapps and our community is awesome. But if we can’t attract traffic and investors then we can not move forward.

So keep using our dapps and promote the ones you love to use .
Build new dapps and make the existing ones even better.

Thanks for sharing,

Have an awesome day!

Exactly we need to help in building steem really, these complaints are really saddening my friend

The thing that Steem needs the most right now is people actually using it. And not just making posts or comments for the sake of making posts or comments, but actually communicating, engaging, and growing. dApps like @steemmonsters, @steemhunt, @dtube and @vimm offer great ways to collaborate and grow. But that only happens when people use them to the fullest.

I would encourage you to share your life here on the Steem Blockchain. Treat it like you would Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram. Share your life's story, and build up those who do the same. Get people to join you, and watch this awesome site grow!

Obviously you haven't been On twitter then to see our steem promotion, truth is this post is only to encourage people to change their steem mentality and about the DAPP usage, be my guest to see how far I've been using them

Oh, I'm well familiar with @nathanmars and his #steem77 promotion. Steem Twitter is one of the few reasons why I stick around Twitter anymore. But my point still stands. We need to build a network that people want to be part of.

I am a Steemiam hodler and here for the growth of this platform.

Exactly, thanks for being part of the HODLer

Great perspective @josediccus, Steem is about fundamentals and utility not about rainbows and unicorns, we have that utility and it is growing by the day, any short term reduction in price just means you can buy on a rebate, thanks for your article and have an awesome weekend.

Exactly, thanks for that powerful statement
