I love the fact that beautiful bright flowers can grow in a place that at face value seems so dry and barren
It is incredible. The Sonoran desert is the most vegetatively lush desert in all the world, despite reaching highs of 120+ in the city in summer and lows below 30 in winter. Also, there are some cacti out here that have three different flowering stages with differently colored flowers each time.
