Yes.. But not in a completely positive way. :)
People see Drug Wars as a investment with a good ROI. They are completely wrong.
Folks need to start seeing this as a game they spend money on, not something that will make them money.
A 100 STEEM goes in, a 100 STEEM doesnt come out.
Can you play this game without investment? Or do you need to buy in? I do not play any games anywhere, but I am in flavor of them for steem to get people in here.
I hope the game developers of @drugwars encourage/upvote steem posts. @steemmonsters is doing that now. Otherwise these gamers just stick to themselves in the game room and do not too too much to promote us. The more people on steem, the better.
You do not need to invest money, like @niallon11 said.
But there is quite a difference between SM and DRUGWARS.
You can make money from steem monsters due to the market and players determining value.
This game is NOT like that.
Drug wars is essentially a pyramid scheme if you look at it as an investment. So you shouldnt look at it like that. Thats the biggest problem i see now. Folks that were late for Steem monsters think this will make them money. This is another beast completely.
You should see it as a game that redistributes part of the spent money back to the players... But only a part.
Its a game, you can play it for free, but only put in money because you enjoy the game, not because you expect a ROI.
You don't need to invest any STEEM into the game if you don't want to but your progress will be a lot slower. Like steemmonsters to get to the higher levels you will need to put some money in the pot but also like steemmonsters the people at the top will earn more rewards from the game. Hopefully in the future games like these will have external sources of revenue as well which will also be used to reward players depending on rank. Everything in life requires investment in some form or another whether it is STEEM, time, attention.... etc.
Games should be seen more as entertainment than investments.
