The Stupidity of conformity and shallow thinking.

These last few days ive gotten a new will to express myself. I ask myself why that is.
Is it because of the few new votes i got? The invigorating feeling of being listened to that so many crave? Maybe. Maybe im just as superficial as the next guy.

I know i dont deserve the votes and every time i get them i think of every other post that hasnt been looked at because VP is limited and i guess, hey, i can write a sensationalist title and write about current faults in the system. I can write about Steem which is the predominant topic everyone cares about.

300 comments i got in the last 9 Steem related posts just on pointing out the stupidity and the corruption in Steem. Faults in behavior. Faults in evaluating quality. Human greed and egos running rampant. What grinds the gears, what stake does and shouldnt do.
How many comments did a quality musician here get? A quality painter, illustrator, writer, comedian?

When will we finally make the step towards diversity and content equality? We want diversity outside Steem related content, do we not?
All of us are guilty of it.

Its kind of sad that this is what draws attention. Actually its very sad.

Last night i got pretty riled up in SFR discord chat. Pretty pissed off.
One of the "abuse fighters" with a lot of stake was very dismissive of what i do and the way i attract attention to certain issues.
The exact issues that plague the steem blockchain.
People place themselves in very closed boxes, they cant see beyond their nose and cant grasp the deeper idea of what someone does. Unwilling to even consider anything beyond their prejudice. They cant see beyond the obvious because Steem has always been "the obvious + the scheming behind the curtain."
I could chalk it up to stupidity because some people are just dumb but honestly i chalk it up to the glossy surface of the Steem reality.

The comments against someone are always "politically correct" or rather "steem correct". Downplaying whatever problem, with opinions never fully expressed.
"I think youre a complete asshole for doing what you do" turns into "Please sir consider what i have to say in the most sugary of ways."

What if you think that youre right to a degree beyond doubt and you think the other person is absolutely wrong?

Does it not eat you inside that you didnt say something?

A troll is someone that says what not many are willing to say. A community leader is someone that pats everyone on the back. A voice of reason is someone that makes everyone hold hands together.
Even when that is not possible.

Where do you put yourself? Do you conform to what others expect of you so you dont lose favor? Are your actions under complete dominance of "making it"?
Weighing the pros and the cons and making choices based on your personal short term gain or do you want this "human nature beta test" that is Steem, help succeed?

#newsteem? How about you ask yourself if you want to step away from the paradigm of what human politics and the established order of things are?
We are here to do that, are we not? Remember government corruption and nepotistic favoritism?
Why repeat that here if we dont have to.

Doesnt that make all of this pointless and prove to the world at large that this new, revolutionary idea is a complete failure and that the only path to take is the path we as a society are already on.

Just a few thoughts and ill see you around. :D
Hope this is not a too big of a downer. Id hate that. hehe

Human attention to something is fascinating, makes everything yield eventually, especially if it's consistent. There is something with getting some big up votes that really caught you by surprise. Surely a boost of energy. Money/Value seems to be some energy flow.

You deserve the up votes because of your consistency and interesting posts that has observed the reality. If everyone used their eyes daily and reported back their observations what a great world we would be in. XD As we would quickly have eventually realized the same truths most likely. More diplomats needed that can work as a medium.

The best ways to approach many topics seems to be with lots of joke/parody combined with seriousness, being playful with topics, be able to laugh at yourself. This industry in many ways are a complete failure as you pointed out. The low level of adoption. But maybe it's quick on a long term scale... But surely a lot of fanaticism.

But the best part is the feeling of have tried to improve things, it would be worse to be passive, being an action taker and try to be a part of the solution feels better than just watch life pass by.

It's surely is Game of Thrones of Blockchain at least, Internet entertainment that is more engaging than Instagram/Facebook/Twitter. And in some ways it feels great to have found something that makes you less concerned when it comes to centralized value systems. But wild west for sure. I think places like this mostly attracts "street smart" people.

But I'm pretty sure we're moving to an Utopian society, but human stupidity tells me that people would find ways to be annoyed at a perfect AI as well. People always find reasons to complain. Even if you make their life perfect, many humans enjoy their chaos and drama. Especially can be seen with all the TV Shows that are popular...

Making videos on Internet 2007-2009 that I did was way more lonely. As max a few content creators in your niche 20-30, so not very inclusive. All the viewers didn't benefit as much. As they can do with these new systems. So things seem to improve a bit, but humans chemical intake concerns me the most. Not the AI, but that people may only entertain themselves and not care about real issues, soil, the animals... Well we have to see how it goes!

It's true! Hence why I started my fan fiction about Steem.

Haha. Well you get it. Thanks for the comment.

Never let people mold who you are. Theres this template of behavior most people adhere to on Steem and i find that ridiculous and fake. This glossy cover onchain and backstabbing and curtain play behind the scene.
Let loose, speak your mind and dont hold back. What do you have to lose? A few $? So what, at least youre true to yourself.
This sounds kind of like motivational nonsense but is it really so far of from what you can see here? :D

#newsteem? How about you ask yourself if you want to step away from the paradigm of what human politics and the established order of things are?

I don't think that will ever happen. You can't really change nature.

Whenever a status quo is disturbed, a new order will emerge. The only thing that matters is whether it's better or worse.

Ofc. It wont. But some people might become aware of it.
If even a few change their ways, why not go with the narrative.

Im hoping for a better status quo even though im skeptical it will happen. I dunno, hoping for a better outcome seems reasonable instead of just giving up even though you might not think it will happen.

I mean, we are starting to see some subtle shady stuff already. We won't bring that up until an opportune moment.

Theres always shady stuff. Cant wait to figure out what youre referring to. Surely a good post in that. haha

One of the most important thing on steemit is the ability for people to express their opinion either about things or situations and point out what they think about it

You must be fresh out of booze. You didn't @ anyone! LOL

Hi @lordbutterfly

Good point.
However Steemit isn't yet a place to be for all those people. Right now most users are still early adopters and our interests are indeed mostly related to steem blockchain.

I wouldn't expect Steemit to attract all kinds of content anytime soon.
