It depends what you are looking at. There have never been many users here and most that were and left, will be back with price. Not that it'll matter, there will be many more too.

Price isn't god, it's a carrot....
Not if they see (or even sense) the ethical inconsistencies.
Ethics trumps price.
(unless price is more important than ethics - but I would say that isn't the case- for 85% of the population)
There have never been more than about 50k unique users and most of the time, much less than that. Pretty small numbers and, like every other time, most will come back when prices increase. How many time has it happened so far?

I think that you focus on a very small group of users in your evaluation about the ethics here though.
No sustained social or economic system ever endures without a code of ethics in place...(that I can think of, historically. Implosion).
It's kind of essential for a community if they are expand (long term).
Steem might be the 'brave new world' paradigm, (the model as it stands, right now) but if it is - it will most likely end in mushroom clouds.
(...then price won't matter too much...)
No ethical code = the sociopaths run wild, and unconstrained.
(as we can see from the last 100 years)
My evaluation of the (non) ethics are not focused on one person, or 50,000- but on the system in place.
I'm looking at the fundamental structure, not people.
