Would you really want 'big bad Facebook' to use SMTs -if/when they arrive? Imagine the blowback from the community at Steem getting into bed with ol' Zucks.
I'm sure they've looked at Steem very closely, as it's the only established social platform on blockchain. Maybe they've even considered, or enquired about buying it? It'd sure save them some time, and Facebook has bought well in the past - just look at Insta (and they tried to buy Snapchat too).
You cannot purchase everything you want in life because you have the money. You can only buy it when the board accepts to sell!
Obviously, but I was just saying they might've already considered, or approached Steem Inc (it's not something @ned would advertise if they had) - and Snapchat didn't sell, either. But for huge, cash rich companies like Facebook, they often innovate through acquisition.
