Chapter 25 in the book “The Prince” by Niccolò di Bernardo dei Machiavelli (1469 –1527) is devoted to Fortuna.

He argues that Fortuna only controls half of the fate of a human being.

The other half is the result of a person’s actions.

“Fortune may be the arbiter of one half of our actions, but she still leaves us the other half, or perhaps a little less, to our free will.” Machiavelli

Cool. I love that you said, "Be with happy people."
Why did you not mention "Rich people, People with wisdom, knowledge and other lucrative stuff"?

To me, the ultimate goal in life is nothing but happiness. Many said to me that you need "Money" to become happy. Well, if you research thoroughly, you will understand that there are very poor people out there that find it hard to feed themselves three times a day; still, they live a happy life.

Absolutely right, happiness comes from within.

I have read some time ago about a study, analyzing the correlatiom between money and happiness. The conclusion is that there is a clear corrrelation until certain level. After the basic needs are satisfied, then correlation desapiars.

Unless you're a billionaire, then the correlation is that all billionaires are happy.

Well sure, you have me so of course your fortunate.

But the rest of these plebs will never get our secret hair care regimen. Nope, it stays between you, me and that old italian guy our dad had to take care.

I don't know how anyone else can consider themselves fortunate without being able to ruffle my feathers...

We'll catch up soon at our hourly meeting.

Hourly? Shocking IMG_20181024_154638.jpg

Happiness is meh:

Many find joy in harming others, bullying or simply being an instigator. We call these people sociopaths. Sociopaths can be among the happiest people as they are "anxiety, what estas?".

Fortunate is another broad term.

I wouldn't call a sociopath fortunate but from the outside looking in they would appear as the most " fortunate", stringing you along with the story of their lack of childhood and omitting the numerous victims of their malice to reach the fortune they use to sell themselves with as "great".

Find yourself and you will find happiness and fortune regardless of who you meet.

Happiness doesn't mean that you can always do what you want, but that you always want what you do. - Leo Tolstoi

Thanks for some good advice.
We can choose happiness even in adversarial circumstances.
It is difficult but I am learning to do it!
Wish you the best!

You know we were just having this conversation over on discord and I totally agree. I love motivational stuff. I shared this with the group and they all loved it. Never surround your self with negative people.
