VENEZUELA: The opportunity Steem investors are missing out

in #steem5 years ago (edited)

The only reason I entered and invested in steem was because of all Crypto I tough STEEM was the one with the most potential for easy adoption given its mixture of social network and crypto wallet with an internal market and a debt instrument floated to the USD.

I saw then and I still see the opportunity to make a difference and replace scarce FIAT money in places like Venezuela.

This is not charity, if we manage to assure business owners that our currency is easier to use, cheaper to transfer and holds more value than local FIAT the price of our beloved STEEM will soar.

In Venezuela there is a lot of money flow in secondary and black markets, and STEEM has a big potential that we as investors are missing out.

Mass adoption by a whole country will make STEEM great again.

Yet even after 2 years of putting my little stake to drive a pilot project we failed to raise interest of STEEM stake holders and as you see other crypto currencies are being promoted and developed there.

I want to address @ned and STEEM stake holders in general, there is a huge potential, we just need to make things properly and need support to encourage user retention.

Get rid of the free money for writing approach and work towards internal promotion in the country, forget about curating posts, DASH is taking off there as an alternative to scarce FIAT, local store (walmart like) Traki is already accepting it.

We are being left behind, when we could be with building a strong currency with real life use outside vote selling and exchange scalping.

We just need some support so we can reward user efforts to Proof of brain and proof of effort of users to develop STEEM acceptance with the local business.

You can ask @pgarcgo, he knows the potential is there, he knows I have the know how, he has seen first hand what me and the team i built since 2017 can do with less than 10.000 SP...

@fulltimegeek has been supporting Venezuelan projects, @ausbitbank has done too, @patrice has believed in my efforts.

I think they can attest there is a core group of honest Venezuelans that believe in steem both as a solid platform and a life changer future building currency.

Lets stop missing out,

Cordially yours,

Nathaniel NARVAEZ

What can make the difference ? Investment and trust.

Lease us a delegation, we don't want anything for free, me and my team don't feel entitled to anything, we just need an affordable way to promote steem locally, to encourage merchants to adopt it.

Want the curation rewards back, not a problem, just we cannot afford to lease at current prices because we will not be selling the votes, we will use them to reward people working in the streets, in the stores showing the power of steem fast transactions.

We will use to reward merchants who adopt steem as a means of payment as a form of interest, we will try to fully develop the financial power of STEEM while blogging about it.

We estimate that we can afford to lease 40K SP that would not be enough for full speed development. But sadly right now I am the only one financing the project and i am willing use my FIAT bought steem to pay for the lease.

We need more, yes 500K to 1MM will speed things up, but we are realistic, we dont expect charity and that is what we can pay.

Please, Invest in people actually trying to build strong solutions on this blockchain.

You're right, Steem is easy to use even more than bitcoin. There is a lot Venezuelan people around Steemit and many exchanges.

The "Venezuelan Exchanges" actually hurt the ecosystem because they do not encourage business acceptance and are actually opportunistic making profit of the little users.

Those local exchanges, at best they are a necessary evil... (Actually they are not exchanges are gateways)

Also this has created the impression to investors that Venezuelans are dumpers.

They dump it yeah but just because it cannot be spent wallet to wallet, and sadly those so called Venezuelan gateways do not have liquidity so all the STEEM they recover from you guys, gets dumped in the real big exchanges to get BTC to buy $ to buy bolivars and keep selling them to you... (In a circle)

My proposal gets rid of them organically by giving STEEM use outside vote selling/buying.

I tried with the first Venezuelan gateway to make a deal to provide liquidity, but they wanted the whole piece of the pie and since they didn't have money to invest they resorted to recycle what they had and make a profit of taking fees from you. The buyers ...

The problem is that people using STEEM in Venezuela have not seized the full power of this blockchain and do not have the know-how to actually make a profit while doing what is right to make the price stable.

Hence the investors do not curate in Spanish or do only very little because they see all the STEEM that goes there ends up in the exchanges.

See what the Whaleshares Venezuelan community is doing... instead of STAKING up like STEEM old timers did, they started to power down their Whalestake and are dumping it

We need real blockchain and monetary system education, coaching of users, bringing local influencers and develop business adoption, most of all we need to stop telling Venezuelans: STEEMit; free USD for writting bullshit... And teach them to become crypto ambassadors.

My proposal is to receive financial support to implement all that and increase normal user staking up + Small business money into STEEM, like DASH has been doing and EOS-Venezuela aims to do...

Well, that is a lot of work that we have to do. People here wants easy money because the economic crisis. It's not easy but is not impossible.

At least I am here on the network because I like many of the content, I am like a curator but without nothing yo curated, just a reader of the steem blockchain
