Steem at $0.20: your thoughts?
Hi there my Steemian friends and followers!
Steem has been lately hovering around 20 cents, which probably is the lowest price I have seen since I joined this blockchain almost 2 years ago. While Bitcoin is currently at some 3/5 of its all time high, consolidating around $12,000, most alt coins have been struggling really bad.
They say once Bitcoin stops growing, a significant part of the investments will be transferred to other coins but the question is when (or whether at all?) does that happen? I don´t know. However, if the alt season does come, I am really confident that Steem will skyrocket, beating most of its rivals. Why? Well, because even now, in these seemingly endless, super frustrating bear times the engagement and activity on our blockchain is just astonishing. There are so many awesome people creating so many awesome things on the Steem blockchain right now. Soon or later, this simply has to be reflected on the price and reputation of our coin.

Je to tím, teda mám takovou teorii, že to je kvůli tomu, že velryby s BTC se chtějí dostat na 80-85 % tržní kapitalizace všech kryptoměn. Teď je dle cmc na cca 69 procentech, takže k 85 je ještě nějaká ta cesta...
A proč - resp. co by z toho měly? Jen se ptám, snažím se na to taky přijít.

The biggest problem for STEEM and Steemit in the near future is that competent competitors are starting up. It used to be that STEEM basically had a floor on its value because of how it could be useful on this site. There would always be some demand. Now that there are other sites out that there are arguably doing as good of a job, or arguably better (Publish0x), demand for STEEM might sink further than I thought it could.
Interesting points, thanks for sharing them with us. Honestly, I am not very familiar with what our competitors have to offer. I better check it out to know what we are facing.

I mean it sucks :D - But, I'm still optimistic for the future :)) - Also, I will keep an eye on EOS Voice when the beta version comes out. Let's see how that goes.
I will stay away of Voice, but I will be pleased if someone will try it and let us know :-)

Yeah for sure! No I did not launch yet, only the registration before the beta version starts is available now. I'm also still fully going for Steemit but it's never wrong to try out new things as well imo. Wish you a great weekend buddy!
I have double feelings about it! When the other alts do rise, steem does rise a little bit. When BTC goes up, Steem goes down. When the other alts go down, steem goes down harder.
I did write a post about it 2 or 3 days ago. Maybe it is due to all the airdrops of the different tokens, who are sold for steem and used to bring to the market in stead of powering up!
The more faith we have as steemcommunity, the harder the value of steem drops!
But we can honestly say that it has become a complete different ball game! The blogging part of Steem seems to become less and less important!
Actually, I noticed some strange patterns in the Steem price´s behavior too. Honestly, it is a kind of mystery to me why Steem tend to drop more than other alt coins sometimes. I mean what do the rival coins have to offer? I doubt any of them have such a great community and busy blockchain behind them...
The price will either keep dropping slowly or, more likely, stuck around the same value for a while. Few months at least, let's say until the end of this year.
Whilst the non-reflected (by the traders) value of the Steem blockchain grows steadily among time, the long-term hodlers have no reason to fear anything. The market notices once Bitcoin surpasses its ATH and altcoins return to the spotlight.

I think steem is preforming in the same kind of misery as any kind of alt.
whenever btc starts flowing back into alts..that is when we will see where we really stand.. on terms of usubility, we are good!

Steem is the only coin i invest in, and i believe it is extremely undervalued at this point.
Amazing things are happening on Steem blockchain which will reflect the price of Steem in the future.

Sounds right. Let´s hope you are correct :)
The most important thing about STEEM are the users. When there will be more and more users, I am not worried. If it gets "old" and everyone will move to some "more profitable, more user-friendly, newer, shinier" social network/blogging space, I will start to doubt. But right now, its just a price drop due to bear market of all crypto space (excluding bitcoin, which is already in bull market right now). No worries :-)
Well, considering the amount of all those cool projects created on the blockchain, I think we are on our way to attract even more people, once the price gets interesting again. We might well be the most universal blockchain out there, offering something for everyone :)
