Our Hearts With The Victims Of Terrorism In New Zealand

in #steem5 years ago (edited)

I would have wished that the day I would be taking a break away from sports and football would be to write something nice and fun. It is however sad that it has to be something as inhumane and saddening as the killing of Muslims in New Zealand.

Just few hours ago, some gunmen invaded two mosques in ChurchStreet in New Zealand, The Al-Noor and Lindwed mosques, massively killing occupants of the mosque in vicious shootings.

Christchurch is the second largest city in New Zealand and while Muslims were out for the Friday prayers on March 15, unknown gunmen attacked two mosques, killing the Muslims in it.

As of the latest report, 49 people have been confirmed dead while 20 are reportedly seriously injured.

The most pathetic thing about this horrible development is that some heartless politicians in the country, instead of rendering one voice to condemn this act, are blaming the immigrants and Muslims for this action.

The media is no saint, reporting this act of terrorism as just a mass shooting and attack, not calling it its real name, Terrorism.

Just imagine a picture of, if the shooter was a bearded man or showed any trait of being a Muslim, the media all over, without batting an eyelid tagged the act, terrorism.

For crying out loud, why do we play games with people's live and show so much hatred for fellow humans? Since when has it become a cry to be Muslims? Is a Muslim less human?

Terrorism has no name, ethnicity, race, religion, colour or tribe. A terrorist is a terrorist, whether he's Jew, Muslim or Christian. It is therefore inhuman to try to shield such persons from who they really are, all in the name of hate of one religion or people.

A victim of the shooting being attended to.

Whether you're Jew, Muslim or Christian, your life is as important as that of the man next door. Your colour, race or religion doesn't make your life less valuable than mine, nor does it make mine superior to yours.

It's another sad day today, perhaps the saddest this year so far, not just for the Muslims of New Zealand but for the entire Muslim world, New Zealand as a country and the whole of humanity.

Let's condemn terrorism in all its shade regardless of who the perpetrator is.

The police have also reportedly arrested about four persons in relation to the attacks, three men and one woman.

Let those who are responsible for the heinous act be brought to book and made to face the music.

#NoToTerrorism
#NoToHate
#NoToRacism
#NoToReligiousBigotry
#WeAreAllOmeHumanRace.

It's a sad day. A Dark Friday.

It should be Christchurch, not ChurchStreet...

Thanks @forykw for the observation. Was so engrossed with the bitterness of the whole thing.
