My Next Goal - An average of 3 Cents Per Upvote Received

My Next Goal
Over the last few weeks, I have been tracking the average payout value per upvote on my Steem posts. I am receiving about 1.5 cents to 2.5 cents per upvote.
Over the next 2 months, I want to increase my average payout per upvote to 3 cents.
This may not seem like much at first glance but let's dive a bit deeper and examine the numbers.
Percentage increase = (Desired Upvote Value - Current Upvote Value) / Desired Upvote Value x 100
(3 cents - 2.5 cents) / 2.5 cents * 100 = 20% increase
(3 cents - 2.0 cents) / 2.0 cents * 100 = 50% increase
(3 cents - 1.5 cents) / 1.5 cents * 100 = 100% increase
Why Does Increasing The Average Payout Per Upvote Matter?
By increasing my average payout per upvote, I am showing that one or more of the following are true:
- I am increasing my influence to include new Steem members who I have not previously engaged.
- I am meeting the needs of my current followers and they are rewarding me for deeper engagement.
- I am interacting with Steem influencers and they are supporting me and the content I create.
The increase in the average upvote payout is not what is important. The increase in engagement is!
Factors That Impact the Price Of The Average Payout Per Vote:
The Price Of Steem
If the price of Steem increases by 20%, 50%, or 100% then I have already achieved my goal. But I do not want to depend exclusively on the price of Steem to determine whether or not I am successful.
I want to improve my engagement regardless of the current Steem prices because I believe that the investment I make today will be rewarded in the future.
Investing In Steem Members Who Have Less Steem Power Than I Do
Will I focus on myself or will I use my Steem power to invest in other people? By investing in others, I help other members of our community increase their power and influence.
Although I should not do so with ulterior motives, I have seen the "principle of reciprocity"play out in the Steem ecosystem. We tend to practice the art of giving with the goal of mutual benefit. I cannot make someone vote for my posts or support my projects. Nor would I want to. But I can enable them to grow as individuals / Steem accounts so that they can have an impact on others.
Supporting Steem Members Who Have More Steem Power Than I Do
It is important to remember that we don't give just to get. We shouldn't use flattering words and fake smiles. Instead, we should build genuine, authentic relationships with other people.
I believe that it is good to find people who you can look up to. It is good to follow people who are walking the good path. And as we walk a few steps behind them, we can learn from and support those who lead.
Will everyone invest back in the way you invest? Nope! But you will find a few people who are great examples of what it means to be an honorable Steemian. You will find a few people who you will mirror as you engage with other people. You will find a few people who dream big and encourage others to do the same.
Final Thoughts
I have some work to do. And as soon as I reach my next goal, I will need to set a new one.
I could sit back and let the price of Steem carry me along for the ride. Or even better, I can start reaching out to new members of our community, continue to engage and build up my current following, and support people who are doing extraordinary work and follow there example.

I'm doing very bad at with the latest drops in STEEM price. My full upvote is now only about 2 cents, which gives me very little freedom to buildup engagement with my readers...
I completely understand what you are feeling. When I first joined the community, I felt the same way.
One of the best ways to increase engagement (when you might not receive many upvotes or comments on your own post) is to write authentic comments on other peoples' posts.
It does not take long to find out which content creators interact with their readers. And it is also fairly easy to find out which content creators reward their readers with upvotes.
You don't have to go after a whale. They are usually swamped with comments. But find someone who is a little farther down the path than you are and start interacting with them.
This is a very good advice for everybody. To be honest, this is how I discovered you and I'm very happy engaging with your content.
Still need to look up a little to catch up the latest issues on steem blockchain, just came back online, how are you and your family my friend @sumatranate?
@el-nailul - It was a bit crazy a few days ago when the Steem blockchain went down. Glad that things are better now.
My family and I are doing well. Puji Tuhan. We are all healthy. We are all waiting for my son to arrive. It will be about 5 more weeks.

My primary goal is to reach 1000SP.

Thank is a long-term goal. Can I make a suggestion? I would recommend you set a smaller goal that you can achieve sooner. For example, set your first goal for 200 SP. And then when you reach it, change the goal to 500SP. That way you do not get discouraged.
