Every week, I receive various questions from users on Discord and Telegram from both old and newbies in varrious countries seeking on how to improve the quality of thier contents.... and that’s why I thought of making this post.

I would cut it into parts or editions for easy read and understanding since it would contain much information, and I would call it - "Steem and you". Some weeks, I may include little task for whoever that would be interested ...and maybe with a little reward (not guaranteed)😉....just for fun.

Back to the main point (as described on the intro)

While looking at some of their blogs, I discovered that 45% of them are actually creative and original, but they lack audience, engagement and exposure. And that's why, I would include these ones on my list of the Interview Showcase guest in the coming weeks or maybe months....

Unfortunately, a good number doesn't understand the difference between creativity and originality. And there has been a lot of questions on this.

It takes so much effort and time to give creative and original content, but humans would rather prefer to take the short cut...especially with the invention of AI, sounds more like invention of non creativity and plagiarism.

It's sad how sickening we'll have to watch artificial intelligence take away our jobs and leave us staggering in what we know how to do best.

Creativity and originality are not the same but they are closely related.

All creativity are original but not all originals are creative..atleast to the best of my knowledge in content creation.

Creativity is the invention or improvising of something. It involves critical thinking. Unlike originality which could be built on another person's creativity.

Originality on the other hand is the ownership of a particular idea or invention.

In Steemit, creativity and originality is treasured, that is why there is a strong law concerning plagiarism and use of photos that are copyrighted.

Just imagine how Steemit would be if there was no such rules against it.

What makes your work creative and original?

Creative works implies making things in ways many would not have. It implies ideas and visions that many do not see and originality on the other hand is what comes from you, NOT a copied work, nor stolen work.

These few listed points below will help you know if your work is creative and original.

  • When the idea is your idea it's original.

  • When you think of new and devise ways to solve a problem or create a valuable solution, you are being creative.

  • When you do your personal research without copying another person's idea you are original.

  • When you seek to explore what others term as the "impossible" then you know you are creative.

Interestingly, we need this on STEEM, bring it on.

How to be creative and original

It might be some tough knot, especially when you face a writer's block or you have absolute no idea on the subject or how best to approach it.

Still, you may have little and insufficient knowledge which still puts you in black out and the only way out seems to be recreating another person's or lifting their ideas.

So before lifting that pen to write, turning on your camera for a content or whatever content remember this...

👉 Creativity most times seeks to solve a problem. As a creative person, ask yourself what problem you seek to solve. Look for the "what's" and "how" of a problem and deal with it.

👉 Try not to go the conventional way, a creative person is not a conventional person. Try new ways of handling that same old project.

👉 A creative person is diligent. As a creative person, diligence and commitment promotes excellence and in fact originality.

👉 A creative person involves in critical thinking not trying to usurp someone else's idea.

Importance of being creative and original on Steemit

Everyone is proud of creativity including you because it's your unique voice.

  • An original work will always belong to you and you alone.
  • You would stay out of trouble since you aren't plagiarizing any body's work.
  • Creativity stimulates critical thinking and problem solving skills among individuals.
  • Creativity brings about innovation, technological reformation and infrastructures.
  • Creative thinking and originality solves environmental, social and academic problems. Don't be dump, use that brain, it can work!

Having learnt all these about creativity, it's time to go explore our creative minds on Steemit...are you ready? Let's walk together....

I'm currently experiencing the fortunate situation of reading a number of new talents - who operate outside the Communities, don't necessarily publish steemexclusively and, on the other hand, aren't constantly chasing votes, but are on board for the joy of writing. That comes pretty close to my idea of a blogging platform ;-))

That must be a good feeling and yeah, you are fortunate to see such posts..😊 thank you.

Alot can be found outside communities as well. I have come across such many times..

Blogging should be with passion and joy, that's the only way it can be natural.

Thank you for stopping by.

I would include these ones on my list of the Interview Showcase guest in the coming weeks or maybe months....

That's an interesting idea and a good way to get more exposure. I'll follow up. (:

Thank you. I'll do my best.

I find this publication very helpful, sometimes because limited time also adds to confusion in writing (delayed ideas), it happens when I'm writing and suddenly have to cook... Hehe
Sometimes we also have to read a lot from those who have more understanding about writing because as you said brother, that in Steemit we need this.
Always success brother... 👍👍👍

Hello @liasteem,

Yeah, it can and I can understand that. There are many factors that contribute to it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Chaiyoooo..... 💪💪💪

So basically you have outlined everything for writers like me :)

I will definitely follow your points. Very authentic and useful!

I'm glad you find it useful!

This post is very interesting and I have grabbed a lot from it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us.

Good to know you picked something.
