11 out of 19 Top Witnesses Now Running Hard Fork 20 of Steem Blockchain. Super Majority So Close! Upgrading My Witness Servers Today.
It's that hardfork time again! Changes for Steem are upon us and we are over halfway to the point of adoption for HF20. Very close to the 'super majority' needed to make Hard Fork 20 the new active fork for the Steem Blockhain.
I'll be updating my nodes today, ideally ready to switch over tomorrow. The scheduled date for switchover is the 25th of September.
I have reviewed the changes within Hard Fork 20 since they were first formally published on the blockchain and while I could add comments to some of them and suggest minor alterations, in general I am in alignment with them and have no problem with them being tested out on the live network. We can always roll back any problematic changes in a future hard fork, should the need arise.
We certainly need an improved signup process and this hard fork offers a solution for that - I look forward to seeing the results.
I will post again once my Witness servers are upgraded to HF20.

Is there going to be any change to the user experience right away other than the 15/30 minutes for curation rewards? I've read about HF20 and it seems mostly about the ease of sign ups, no other changes we will notice?
There are changes to the internal market and also self-voting behaviour and Powering Down behaviour, among others. You can view the list of changes here.
Thanks, seems to have no obvious interface changes, but the signup thing will big for drawing new people to the platform!
