Dude your bot voted. When I placed my bid the return was over 1000% then after bidding it was at 500%. By the time it came to next upvote it was 74% and the tracker said I would receive .64c. I actually received .22c. On an investment of 0.1SBD (about .55c) that is not a very good ROI. Why would anyone send you SBD just to lose money? I could just as easily promote my post. You made money from my contribution of course! Not impressed.
Why don't you make a post that clearly explains the voting system and let delegators know they could just as easily lose money than increase it? At least investors would know the risks involved.
The more people bid and send you SBD then the less you payout! Works to make you money obviously.
As i said there is a proper model behind this. It cant flourish if it is biased. profits and losses are on both sides.
If you model limited the amount of bids to never more than 75% of your total voting power, there would not be any losses ever. Or did I calculate it incorrectly again?
My friend, that would be a biased model. If total bids are always less than bots vote value, the bot will always be in loss. Bidding is always speculative. Sometimes you get a thing for higher its worth, sometimes you get it for lower its worth - Bidding is just like that.
Ok but when you vote, it doesn't cost you anything. In fact you earn curator rewards. So how can it be loss to cost nothing AND receive bids?
That is right, it doesn't cost you anything to upvote but your Voting power. That applies when you have all SP of your own. Bots have a different situation. They are being delegated SP by other users, which they have to pay daily. They lease the SP by investing STEEM. These are the variables that need to be considered. Total vid amount for a day is used to cover these expenses for that day. I hope you understand.
It doesn't cost me anything when I vote, it just reduces my voting power. I assume bots use the same principles but just do it through code and the API interface? Being careful with my assumptions here, of course.
Oh you mean of bidders send you less than your total vote, then you lose. But if they send you more, they lose because they only get a distributed percentage of the total vote. I understand !

You are wrongly calculating your bids. That is not my fault. A market never establishes and flourishes when it only gives losses. There is a proper model behind bid-botting. There may be losses on both bot and bidder side. Do your research before putting another bid.
Dude I watched the algorithms on steembottracker and only about 1 in 10 bots made a profit. Seems like you need to research and develop your code, then state your objectives clearly to avoid misleading people (and further action) and unhappy customers!

You know why the flag button is seperated from the upvote button by such huge distance? Because of this reason. Flags affect a users reputation a lot. Anyways, THANK YOU FOR REMOVING IT.

Regarding your issue, I want to tell you that each vote is casted based on number of bids in a round and the bidding amount of each bidder. @whalebuilder casts a 100% vote in every round which is currently worth around 2.50$. Total vote worth is distributed among the bidders according to bids. If the total bidding amount in a round exceeds total vote value. Then all bidders are in certian loss. If total bidding amount is less than the total votes value then the boy is in loss and the bidders in profit. I think you understand now. There is a beautiful tool on the steembottracker website to calculate profitability of certian bot with the given bid. Always use it before bidding.
