"All power is given to me in heaven and on earth, therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them
in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them all the things that I have commanded you. And I am with you every day until the end of the world. "Mt 28: 18-20.

Saint Matthew sheds light on the authority and strategy of the Lord to reach all nations, all people with the Gospel.

This mandate that has been called "the great commission" has in some cases become the "great omission" of the Church and of believers in particular. The results can not be ignored. Maybe we have been falling into some ties that have led us to dedicate ourselves to "doing theology" with words that Jesus simply expected us to practice.

The order is "ID", it carries the intense desire of the Lord with respect to his followers, so that his great sacrifice on the cross may become valid for more people, so that more people reach salvation through faith in the grace of God. .
Mt. 24:14.

The central words in the Great Commission are "making disciples." Because it is the only verb in imperative time in the Great Commission, it carries the greatest desire that our Lord has for his followers. Making disciples is the heart of the Great Commission. The other two verbs: baptizing and teaching, with their entire sentences expand and explain the main action of "making disciples". To whom? To all nations.

Making disciples of all nations can seem an overwhelming task. However, while we are going to make disciples we can go with confidence. We can be sure of the ultimate success because Christ has "all authority" and has promised to "be with us every day until the end of the world."

Christ himself gives us the guarantee of success, of His power, His authority and His presence. Jesus gives his Church the main task until he returns and also the promise in which his success is guaranteed.

The apostle Paul, imprisoned after suffering a thousand hardships, stated that his work had not been in vain. He is an example to us as we carry on the great commission.
