Be The CHANGE You Want

in #steemchurch5 years ago

You know, it is easier to sit on the fence and criticize those in authority. We never see anything good in them, we hardly appreciate any effort made to make things better. Well, it is OK to criticize someone at least it makes them a better person plus the fact that without those critics, you might not know how great you are doing, but it will be nice if we can also be that change we want.

It is not just OK to sit in the comfort of your home and scold the government or anyone in the helm of affair. Every individual has something to offer and we can always offer whatever we have to give from anywhere. We must not be at the top to enact the change we want, it could start from your family, street, workplace or anywhere that you have found yourself. The most important thing is your willingness to do something that will impact the lives of your fellow citizen.

In making the world a better place, all hands need to be on the desk in order to accomplish the change we all want. Yes, I know the government has failed most of us in So Many years especially in my country where all we feel is pain, hatred & sadness for those awful politicians, but this shouldn't stop us from helping in any little way we can. It should not stop us from trying to change our environment by carrying out those little civic responsibilities that are expected of us. The Bible says we should give to Cesar what belongs to him, this simply means, we are encouraged to carry out every responsibility we owe our nation as citizens. This includes paying of tax, proper handling of government properties, keeping a clean environment, and a few other duties.

Now, when we are done with those things, we can hold the government responsible for not doing theirs. I also want us to understand that the responsibility of making your country better lies with you and those in power. For instance, in a country like Nigeria where the system is totally faulty, it takes a lot of courage to even want to help in any little way, but we have to do it anyway. We have to try! I mean, there is no place we can actually call our home except for your country. You might become a citizen of another well-structured and developed country, but one thing is certain, your root will always be your root! Besides, you must not be in your country to effect any change. You can easily do it from anywhere.

Then again, we could start by being a better person in our homes and workplace. Remember, only a responsible parent can raise good kids and if the kids are properly raised, they become good citizens that way the government will have fewer worries and concentrate on other pressing matters. Our attitude toward work also counts. How do we handle the task given to us by our bosses at the office? Do you willingly let the company suffer financially & go into penury because you care less as long as you receive your monthly paycheck? Let's be reminded that those companies make up the economy of a nation. The government needs them to pay their revenues and when we allow our jobs to suffer by being nonchalant then the economy of the whole nation pays for it. It doesn't matter how little you think your company is. A drop they say make a mighty Ocean. These things should not be overlooked!

Lastly, the Bible says we should pray for those in authority, our leaders for God's guidance, but I think most of us do not carry out this instruction. We ought to pray for our leaders to be able to lead well. Being in the helm of an affair is not an easy task no matter how you look at it. There must be a reason why the Bible commands us to do so. Praying for those in authority is one of the duties we must carry out daily, spiritual duty actually. And yea, it is never too late to start. The ball is in your court! Do you want to loud your criticisms or you want to do something about it? I pray God will grant us the grace to be the change we need through Christ that strengthens us, amen!

Yes we’re all leaders! Even if I’m not leading anyone, I’m at least leading myself, therefore I should live responsible and set good examples. Thanks @ammyluv
