Do Not Take Your PRIVILEGE For Granted

Oftentimes, I have seen persons who take what they have for granted. A lot of peeps do not appreciate the fact that their parents are still here with them. Hence, they treat them badly without been remorseful. I get the fact that some parents can be too demanding, cunning, and controlling, but they are still your parents anyway. We have different privileges, mine might be different from yours. Some have the privilege of coming from a rich home where everything is been provided for them while a lot of people do not have such privilege. When I was growing up, my parents could barely provide for my siblings and I. We worked so hard for everything we wanted, but I wouldn't say it was totally bad because I had my parents with me, and they showed us love even in lack. Some people had/have the privilege of been learned, exposed, and educated while others do not have such although they would really love to have such privilege. Privileges should never be taken for granted irrespective of the type you have. One thing about life is that no one can have it all. We must not have all the good things in life in order to appreciate the ones we have.

Sometimes, it is good to look around, and you will find out that there are many things that you have others do not have. Now, the question is why then do we take such privileges for granted? Having a certain privilege means that you have a certain advantage or immunity available only to you or a group of persons. Let's not forget, these advantages are usually not available for anyone to grab even though kill for it. Sometimes, I would try to imagine what it means to come from a royal family, and I am sure people from there may also be thinking about what it feels to be a commoner. This is what privileges are all about, you have something that others do not have yet you take it for granted, and act as if it's nothing. Remember, you may not know the value of what you have until you lose it. I also want you to know that when you appreciate the things you have, it adds value to your life, and when you abuse the privilege you have in your life, it becomes meaningless and underused.

Nothing in your life should be taken for granted. The truth about life is that while you grumble about the things you have always remember that a lot of people would kill to have what you have. If we are all given an opportunity to chose the things we want in life, I believe we will all go for the best. Who would love to sleep in an uncompleted building instead of a good house? Most of these things are not planned by anyone, they just happen. The son of the most powerful president in the world didn't decide on his own to be born into the Trump's family, but it happened anyway which is why we must appreciative of the privileges we have in life. Abuse, they say is inevitable when the purpose of a thing is not known. I strongly believe there is a reason why you have what you have if you are opportune to have kids, appreciate your kids and don't bully them or care less about them because there are a lot of couples out there that have done everything humanly possible to have kids yet it's not happening. If you are lucky enough to still have your parents, appreciate them and don't take it for granted, a lot of people would trek to the moon to have their parents with them. And if you have the privilege of having some good, honest, and real friends around you, please do not take such friendship for granted, people would kill to have even if it's just one real and honest friend around. If you are opportune to come from a wealthy family, don't just party wild, and drink away the money, think of how many people who would kill to have 1/3 of what you have. If you are privileged to have a good, strong, and reliable team, as a manager, show them how much they mean to you because no matter how good you are, you need a good team to showcase your potentials/talents.

Putting good use of what you have makes you fulfilled. I mean there must be a reason why you have that in the first place of all the people in the world. This calls for soul searching. As yourself "Why am I here?", "What can I do with this?', "Why me?" These questions will help you get yourself in the right direction. Just like I will always tell people, nothing on this planet earth is a coincidence, there is a reason for everything above all, learn to love what you have. Don't ever think what you have may perhaps be too much for you to handle. Nothing you truly love should be too much for you to deal with, it only gets messy when we take those things for granted. Here's another thing, it is never too late to start! You can actually start now. Call your parent(s), appreciate your team, show your friend(s) how much you appreciate the friendship, live up to your legacy, love your kids and let them know what they mean to you. Appreciate that someone that always has been there for you and appreciates that person that believed in you when no one else did, let your boss know how much you appreciate his consideration, the list could go on and on. Lastly, remember, privileges can be revoked. Sometimes, you might have the opportunity of getting it back, and sometimes, you might lose it forever.
