HEBREWS 12:2 - READ A BIBLE VERSE DAILY
ENGLISH
Fixing our eyes on Jesus,
the pioneer and perfecter of faith.
For the joy set before him he endured the cross,
scorning its shame,
and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Looking unto Jesus the author
and finisher of our faith;
who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross,
despising the shame,
and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
[looking away from all that will distract us and]
focusing our eyes on Jesus,
who is the Author and Perfecter of faith
[the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity],
who for the joy [of accomplishing the goal]
set before Him endured the cross,
disregarding the shame, and sat down
at the right hand of the throne of God
[revealing His deity, His authority,
and the completion of His work].

Dear @anaman,
It is incredible that our Savior and Lord would endure the shame and suffering of the cross for the joy set before Him. That joy was in bringing many sons and daughters to glory.

This reminds me of a saying by Henry Van Dyke which says "there is absolutely nothing that man cannot do without except God."
And whenever we look unto him, we would never go astray.
I think this is a timely text for us. I'm also doing a series on this verse. I started today. God bless you.
