The power of the mind goes beyond our understanding (believe me I am studying neuroscience) and empower it with good thoughts and desires will make our stay in this plane very good, this is where the religion comes in, acting as an enhancer of good thoughts and actions that help us to be better people and live peacefully while we help others.

Now after talking about the mental aspect we must take into account the spiritual aspect, it really has an almost magical aspect that surrounds it, faith is really powerful and if you believe with enough determination it will make everything easier.
